Dude, if you read the mods they are a joke!!! When you are listing your factory lockers, bosch spark plugs, GREDDY aluminum oil CAP, 3 system alarm, TRD pressurise gas cap COVER, Tom's tailight trim COVER as your 'mods', you are what we call a 'ricer'. He's got maybe two or three things done to it that are actually worth mentioning, the rest are gayer than Richard Simmons at a pride parade in SanFrancisco. He does have a lot of money into his rig, but whether or not that money is well spent on things that are actually relevant is another story (3 PIAAs sporza wing wiper). I would be insulted if he was considered a true gearhead. Not one bit of his engine or drivetrain was even opened up to do his 'mods'.

good point, I was overwhelmed by the size of the list and obviously baffled by the BS, thanks for proof reading.
I'm
so not a gearhead, a 'gear' head, like "let's load up the gear, Lance"
richard simmons......hehehe

As much as I cry when I see a locked 'cruiser that'll never spend a second off pavement, LX_Treme is actually pretty dang knowledgeable when it comes to 'cruisers.
If you look over his list, three letters jump out at you: JDM.
Some of the stuff he has is almost impossible to get over here. He has things that a lot of hardcore wheelers drool over (like the JDM panhard rods, or the TRD swaybars).
Ricer might be an applicable term for him, but he's a ricer who know's his stuff. Notice the lack of K&N air filter on there.....

Oh, he dropped a BOATLOAD of money. No denying that.
I don't even want to think of what the body mods cost him, since it's all original JDM stuff that I don't think has been produced in 5+ years!

And what would he need to extend his breathers for?

Lots of people extend the breathers so they can take the caps off them.
The 80's diff breathers have a 1 way valve on them, air can go out but not in. The theory is that this creates a suction/vacuum in the diff, which it turn pulls on the seals in the axle and contributes to the cross contamination.
IdahoDoug did some testing on this, and the theory seems to play out in real life.
Anyway, if you take off the 1 way cap then it's fairly easy to get water sucked in there (puddle, rain, whatever). By extending them you eliminate that possibility.

but if it never gets off the pavement, what's the point? Leave the caps on, keep the little puddle out.

LX may be knowledgeable.. yes. But taste in a cruiser no IMO. Its just reminds of peeps that dump 50g into a civic to maybe run a 11. Doesn't make sense to me... BUT to each their own.

I know guys that can quote you every spec from a Honda Civic for their conception til now but wouldn't have a clue where the alternator is in the engine bay. I stopped being impressed by people knowing things that can easily be looked up on the internet long ago. I don't care if you know the proper geometry to set up a rear 4 link but can you do it and do it well? Knowledge means very little without some kind of experience behind it, and I can look stuff up just as well as the next guy.

I met my wife at the mall, our first date was in my 85 4runner and while we were driving along she said, "is that the road I can see through the hole in the floor". It made her hot and bothered to say the least and not in a bad way. Which reminds me now that Jerod has the back seat to my old 4runner...don't forget to wash it before you sit in it!!

This seems like a good deal for a 78 fj40, the ad makes zero mention of the engine/trans though.

Here it is folks, this is a club only price, so don't go telling just anybody about this deal....
This is a slightly used, like new, cat-back aftermarket exhaust for the 84-89 4 cylinder 4Runners.
First $500 cash takes it, please no running, I don't want someone to get hurt...
...... Hehehe
