Birf Party Sept. 20 in Rogue River

I talked to Al tonight, and we're on for (moved to Sep 20th) to get his front axle back in shape. He has a rebuild kit ordered, so we just need to nail down the few special tools we'll need, and of course the food and beverages....

Tools: We'll need a monster socket just like the one Steve has.... a pull scale, I have one, I just need to find it.... I have a torque wrench, but it's pretty lame... so a nice T-wrench would be good... Al may have a good one...

And then the usual stuff, 10 12 14 17 19 mm sockets and wrenches, and lots of rags and cleaning stuff...

Also, a list of all the proper torques would be good, instead of looking them up one at a time as we go... I think they are all a little different from the 80 Series torques, but probably the same as the mini trucks, as the 40 series (1975+) and mini's use the same rebuild kit I believe.

So, who's in? Who's out, and if it matters, I hear Al has a garage... so...

Hmm...

That's Garett's Sourdough party weekend, which I just tonight realized I can probably attend for (at least) one night...

Is the date definite?

My camping date is definite. Too bad it coincides with Al's rebuild, I have done 40, 60 & 80 series front ends numerous times and have all necessary tools. No worries though, I'm sure you guys can knock it out no problem.

I am a tentative to show. I need to work on the wife for a hall pass. I can provide a bunch of the specialty tools as needed.

I'll let you know.

Well the first two weekends I'm out (2nd/3rd and 9th/10th). Then count me out the whole last week of August (25th+).

So it's only the 16th/17th and 23rd/24th I have availible.

So what about the weekend after Garrett's Sourdough trip (16th/17th)? Then we can fix anything Travis broke on his FJC that weekend.

I think you broke Steve's heart when we all ran McGrew.

Hey Guys,
Sept. sounds good to me, the weather should be a little cooler, besides the FJ 40 is not my daily driver.

Be safe, and we will catch you latter.

I've got the next few weeks off, then I'm busy the last week of August. Sept is pretty open, then Oct-Dec I will have NO life (Harry & David's season).

I can probably get a day off here and there,......

I just talked to Al, and we're going to try again for the 20th. So speak up if you can make it. Al has a garage, so it'll be a little nicer than Steve's sweet backyard.... Hehe

Al and I are pretty open as far as dates, so if the 20th doesn't work for too many people we can switch it... So pipe up!
