Check engine light on?

soo on the way home from red lake this weekend my engine sputterd and the check engine light came on. does anyone have a light checker that can tell me what the code for the light?

also it seem like i have been smeeling alot of exhaust fumes like maybe i have something blocked or something.

More than likely a o2 sensor went bad if you are smelling exhaust fumes

It could also be a plugged cat converter causing the computer to throw codes. More than likely an o2.

I also have an analyzer for OBD I and II which works for 81 to 96 vehicles

first thing I would do before even getting a scanner is to diconnect the battery to reset the computer. The computer might have had a little hiccup with the change in altitude. With code clear, drive it around a bit to see how it runs and if the light remains off. Also, search on Pirate4x4. Tons of info there on things like this.

Also, I don't know if you do or not, but if you have a K&N Filter, throw it in the garbage. They are no good for the trails and collect tons of dirt which cause computer problems.

well today i pulled it out of the garage and its having a hard time idling but its going higher idle like from 1000 to 2000 it just weird.

A few more rounds of the rubber band ( tighten the snot out of it) and shell be as good as new.

Did you check the water bottle...sometimes when they get dehydrated the squirrels won't run anymore.
