Chad had his RV last year. I think an RV would need an individual site. Maybe he will chime in about his experience last year.

They just need to get their own spot. They will have room for their tow vehicle and maybe one more. You can park your rig in there for $5.00 per day I think and pitch a tent.

Central Valley Crawlers, thanks for running a High Noon Poker Run checkpoint!

You did such a great job last year I've challenged other clubs to take on a checkpoint themselves. So far, the L.A. Trail Crew has stepped up. You guys have set the bar!

P.S. Camping on the beach is fun, unlimited room for parking trailers, or whatever.

We'll have a large fenced "vehicle free" zone for kids. SNT is a family event and there will be lots of kids, all ages.

Thanks for your support!

Thanks. I think we are just going to reserve the north beach campground. It has nice restrooms and showers. With the daughter we are going to need to have the bathrooms close. I guess we will just try to meet up with everyone when we get there.

dont reserve the notrth beach it is a ways away. The southbeach has nice restrooms.

Go to reserve america and put in the dates and the name of the park put pismo. It will then come up as PISMO SB. Any of them thatsay this
Oceano STAN DEV 21 or 31ft will work. Therearte over 20 sites still available.

You can't reserve North Beach I don't believe. It is first come first serve.

When are people from the Visalia/Hanford area going? I am going to try and get out of town Friday around noonish. I will be doing the slow train since I will be pulling my camp trailer. I have to use just about every turn out so people can pass, but if anyone wants to carvan, let me know.

[edit: Sorry I didn't realize I was posting in your club forum, never mind I'm sure you already know the following.]

To avoid confusion, at the the risk of adding to the confusion...

The North beach and South beach campgrounds referenced above are State Parks campgrounds located near the beach. These are typical campgrounds, with designated spots, water, picnic tables, nearby bathrooms and showers. South Beach is located on Pier Ave a block from the beach ramp. While these campgrounds perfectly good options for Surf N Turf, and preferred by some folks, please note they are not literally on the beach and not where most Surf N Turf people camp.

Most people camp on the beach near "Pole 6". This is primitive camping, unassigned, unlimited space on the beach, room for trailers, etc. Pit toilets nearby but nothing else.

Camping on the beach at the "Oceano Dunes State Vehicle Recreation Area" is $10.00 per day per vehicle, you can make advance reservations at Reserve America (Park Name = OCEANO DUNES SVRA) or call 1-800-444-7275.

Do you need reservations?
Probably not, but there is a limit to the number of camping passes sold. Although sell outs are common in the summer and during holidays the park has never sold out during Surf N Turf. Nonetheless, making reservations will ensure your peace of mind.

What is it like to camp on the beach?
Expect sunny skies, warm temperatures and calm winds on most days but remember camping on the beach is exposed and primitive. Savvy campers will bring windscreens, camp tables, BBQs and firewood.

The above information and MORE is available on the Surf N Turf FAQ.

Finally, please note that your camping pass for the Oceano dunes also allows you to use the showers, dump station and other amenities at South Beach Campground.

Hope that helps

Thanks Jim and Cacy this helps a lot. I didn't know that you could use the showers at the other campground with having the dunes pass.
