Fleet of two

I have increased the fleet of one to a fleet of two. Although not a yota, it is a 4x4. So a big round of applause for the not so new 1973 International Scout II. It's really not new to me, it just hasn't been used for 20 years. I think the last time I drove it I got put in jail for trespassing, but at least I was on private property and they did not take my bottle of Jack. Dad's gettin her ready as I speak, new brakes, hoses, removing smog etc. Went down on Fathers day and checked it out, sounds sweet. This model has the 345ci engine and susposedly posi. Dad said something about compound low, don't really know what that is. He pulled the engine last month and painted it and also the engine bay. I don't know why he did it but damn it looks good. I espeacially like the push button AM radio that still works. If all goes as planned she will be making her maiden voyage on the Coyote Flats run this July. I'll bring extra tow staps!

No problem, I'll put them up 7/21 after I see her again. Although dad has master degrees in mechanical and metalergical engineering, taking a digital picture and sending them via email is light years ahead of his capabilities.

Why didn't you say so! Here is the pic you have been longing for.

Got her home yesterday, all 4300 pounds. Let me know when the next safety inspection is, I think she needs a goin over.

Now that you mention it, it does need a few things. AC of course is working just fine. However, need to fix the power windows, power seats, FM radio, power antenna, remote door locks, power mirrors, and tilt wheel!

I think I purchased a used wiper motor from them a month ago.

You can't hardly wear out the 345, You will have a dana 44 in the rear but the front could be a dana 30 or 44.Does it have front disc brakes?? If so its most likley to have the dana 44. The trans will be a warner t-18 which is a very strong unit with a granny low gear.
Looks good

It has four wheel drums, really need adjusting. I'm thinking along the lines of 44 rear and 30 front. Granny low, that sounds exciting! I'll have to take her out to Dan's and see what she can do. Also, i know nothing about carbs and she seems to have a hesitation on acceleration. Anyone know a good carb guy in the area?

Dave at Advanced Auto. He is behind Barnes Welding on East Main Extension. (When you walk out the front of his shop, you are staring at the back of Jensen and Pilegard.)
