So. I've got a lead on some amsteel blue synthetic winch line and will be ordering some in the next few weeks. Delivered to FSJ in November. 
I'll be getting ~200' for myself. Anyone else interested? If so, let me know and I'll figure out pricing.

I'd be interested in what kind of price you can get. I tried hard to find any kind of deal - even buying a 1200' spool wasn't going to bring the price down!
I could use 150' of 5/16th...

That's precisely what I'm after. Extra length for splicing and for a second line if need be. A spool is ~600.' I'll find out $$ and get back to you.

I'd be interested to hear pricing, but would likely run away after that  I looked into this stuff when I first got my winch, and it was crazy expensive (mind you, I likely didn't look at the cheapest place). While the weight reduction and safety would be nice, I'm not 100% sold that it's durable enough to get value out of it as winch line... maybe as an extension or for rigging? Wouldn't mind an idea of what 150 or 250' would run.

Is it hard to believe that someone as contrary as me would have doubts? Does it stand up to repeated pulls through the dirt? Against rock? Maybe it does, after I got my winch fitted, I quit thinking about it.

Getting 3/8" with 5/16" extension for Orange.
Something else for the 77.
I can order as much as I want in either 3/8" or 5/16"... price doesn't change based on quantity.
