TLCA Biz'ness.
Ok. Here is a thread for us to discuss TLCA stuff.
First item up for discussion: dash plaques - yay / nay.
FROM TLCA Pres Zepp:
We have a proposal within the elected board and contractors list to eliminate automatically getting dash plaques. The premise is, only some fraction of membership really gives a hoot about them. The proposal is that upon sign-up/renewal, a member could opt out of getting a dash plaque, and instead get an extra sticker. With an assumption that only about 500 members request a dash plaque, savings to TLCA are estimated at about $3700. The savings comes from not having to have as many dash plaques produced, and savings in the extra postage to mail them out. Since we've already paid for production of 2009 plaques, this would start in 2010.
I would like each delegate to go back to your chapter membership and submit this proposal, and then report back here with the feedback from your membership.
<snip>
Thanks and happy cruisin'!
Jeff Zepp

I agree, I don't mind stickers, but dash plaques are not my thing, I will never have one in my truck. I think I stuck the first one I ever got on a piece of furnature back home, otherwise they just get chucked or put in a shelf.

I always thought they looked OK on the tool chest.

I'm too poor for a tool chest, I carry my tools in a big rubbermaid tupperware container, which I have to pull out of my cruiser every time I want to work in my shop. Then all the tools get spread all over the floor and bench then if I want to go wheeling I have to spend a few minutes collecting them off the floor into the bin
