I actually put the 40 back and stole $5 instead. Had to buy myself a drink. Anyway, I have to figure out the dues (Gladly is gonna kill me soon), mail some Trails (...real soon), contact Mr. Button and then contact some dudes in Calgary.
Oh. And to answer your question Curtis, the flag fund is now up to $101 (inclusive of the 5$ I borrowed). We would have more but some meek willed Bronco bastards stole our barrel and alas, we no longer have a place to collect the cans.

Having the barrel is poor consolation for having to wheel a Bronco.

Ya, the I5 is a lovely grind; just did it. Had hoped to have time to tootle up the Oregon Coast but it was not too be. Anyway...got a place to crash for sure for anyone heading down, and open seats if my own plans work out. Always open to interesting options for routes. Have more days on the before side then the after side.
Resurrection of the old crew for pics at the beach?

According to Google Maps:
3100km from Ft. St. John to Pismo via Vancouver
from:Fort St John, BC to:49.325122,-123.222656 to:Pismo Beach, CA - Google Maps
3726km from Ft. St. John to Pismo via Calgary/Salt Lake City/Vegas
from:Fort St John, BC to:51.124213,-113.90625 to:Pismo Beach, CA - Google Maps
In 2003 Bruce and I did this loop in Orange, although it was to and from Calgary, not FSJ. I don't know about you, but I'd be willing to drive the extra distance just to avoid backtracking.

We're open to the circle route as long as I can get 2hrs roaming around Cabela's in SLC.
Not enough time I know but I'll take it
Good place to stop for food too!

Bruce and I set up a Google Calendar. Go to google. Search for google calendars and then search for Swamp Donkeys SnT. It may come up.
I had posted a link but I think it allows you to read the swamp mail. Will have to convert a pdf to a jpg so I can post up the calendar - for some reason I can't do it here at home, but can at work.
IF you happen to get the calendar to open - remember these dates / agenda aren't written in stone... it's very preliminary at this stage.

Well, I don't think that worked. Maybe you need to have a gmail account to search for the google calendar. I'm in the field tomorrow but I'll post up a jpg tomorrow eve. if Lowenbrau doesn't beat me to it.

At least Danner sounds more like a normal name, I wouldn't mind meeting him, but Google? sounds like some kind of wierdo!

There is a new Cabella's in Lacey, WA, 1 minute off the I5 off exit 111 in Washington (about 1hr south of Seattle), if you end up coming north (or south) on I5.
My first trip to Cabellas lasted 3hrs and I don't think I saw everything.
Going to Cruisin' the Woods in Oregon this weekend with my son; we'll be stopping again to spend more time in the 'Gun Library'. You've got to see it to believe it.
Cheers,
Rob

Anybody looking for a available seat for the trip, or looking to fill a free seat and get some fuel money? I'm still unsure of whether I will take my truck or not. Would be nice to have it for sleeping in, but fuel wouldn't be cheap, and a solo drive would be pretty dull......

Harass Shaker (Marc). He says he doesn't want to spend the big money on fuel either.

I'm gonna have to follow standard practice and tap out. Pulled a boner; was using the 1st weekend in Nov as my dates to book, so have that weekend off on holidays. Just a while ago I paid enough attention to realize S&T is the next weekend (of which at this point I am either working, or on conference from the 6-9 in Victoria. Place is still open on the 10th for anyone needing a bunk...but I might be on nightshift; we could at least do breaky before ya'll head out on the 11th. It would be good to catch up.
Bummer.

Well I guess we jumped the gun and won't be able to do SNT.
My daughter is moving to Coquitlam and the 60 is the designated moving van.
To top it off, the wife's work just signed her up for a course that week.
Have fun folks, maybe next year,
Dave

I'd consider doing it if it didn't cost me too much time, cause right now it is looking like I might have to race down and race back up to work, we will see. Will prabably drive strait south and not the scenic route, but who knows until a few days before.
Cheers,
Deny

I am really waffling on the trip myself. If the plan remains to return via I5 and I don't come, I would kick in fuel money to someone willing to mudship a cylinder head from Portland to somewhere Alberta-ish. (or could see if I can arrange for it to be brought down to Pismo....)

Sensibility be damned, I am going to make the trip. I've let the tailgate guy know, so if he can get it here in time, I'll take care of that. I'm planning to either go down or return via I5 and Portland, but if anyone else is still going, I am flexible for convoying. If anyone needs something mudshipped, let me know.
