In an effort to prove that we're far more than a 4x4 club that loves Toyotas, I'm posting up some pictures of the latest arts and crafts project that I've completed. Hopefully Deny can finally figure out how the candle making process works (I'll provide step by step directions for Deny to follow during the creation of the next two ice candles).

So, yes, the first project in this wonderful thread is the completion of "ice candles"

I was able to make 3 this weekend. The best thing is that it cost me a total of $0.00 to make and I'm using up some wrecked candles that I didn't have the heart to throw out.

Exciting, I know!

It's there. You just can't see it from the angle the picture is taken. You should do a drive-by later this evening and you can see them in action. Or, come over a little earlier and I'll let you make one.

They look great, but you know what would look greater? If you put some dye in there and made some coloured ice candles!

Didn't I mumble something to you about adding dye yesterday? hmm.... Yeah, I could do that I suppose. Maybe I could make you a set for your driveway. That'd lure/impress all the womenfolk that visit you.

Thanks. Yeah, they work pretty well too. I have 2 more freezing now. But, with only -7C temperatures it may take quite awhile. Jeepers....complain it's too cold, complain it's too warm....

Are you sure they won't think I'm some kind of crazy fire/witchcraft warshipper and scare them off?

Ok, Deny's definitely getting a set of ice candles for his driveway. Maybe I could make him 7 - every different colour of the rainbow.

Sorry to disapoint you Deny. Put out the buckets of water at noon today and they've still not frozen. Lit the candles again but it's too windy for them to stay burning. Must've made the air holes to big... mind you the heat from the one candle heated it up enough to make the hole in the top pretty stinking big. I must perfect this madness!

Oh, and Deny, you're gonna get your candles. I might just sneak over to your place in the middle of the night once I've got them all made and light them all up. Mind you, I'll have to be careful not to light too many because I don't want you waking up from the glow of the flames.

Yeah tell me about it, with all the dogs that are alowed to run around, good thing it snows alot up here, otherwise I would have a solid yellow snow bank around my entire driveway.

Indeed it does. 6 stinkin cats live next door. 6 stinking cats crap all over my flower beds. Set up an automatic lawn sprinkler to get rid of them, but in the end it sprayed me more times than any cat. I bet the neighbours loved watching that. I've talked to them about their cats and they say "do whatever you need to do to keep them out of your flowers..."

Hmm... up for paintball anyone?
