Finally the flexy shots:
Looks like I could fit 36 swampers, and they wouldn't rub, but to answer your question norm (from the other thread, because you are afraid to ask here, but I know you visit this thread, so atleast I know I'm not just pissing into the air, thanks.) I plan on running these tires for this year, cause that's all I can afford right now, but plan for next year to get 33x12.50 TSLs, just to be a bit wider, will probably be just a 1/2 in taller too. I don't want to make this truck too big, I got big plans for rusty.

Oh yeah,
forgot to add, broke my rear shock mounts, and antiwrap bar clangs a lot when flexing, so will add some kind of rubber washers to quiet it down. Then a bunch of other little things like fuel filter, air cleaner.......never ends I guess.

I do not.

Looks good man! Those 33s look pretty small now - reminds me of when I first Emu'd my 70, but couldn't afford tires for another year and she was rolling on 28s. Ah, the "roller skate", that was a sweet look...

Is this in your "matrix"? Are you dabbing heavily into the crack again? Maybe you should try laying off for a bit, or maybe try PMing woody, cause I don't thing he checks my little thread.

Here is a pic of not so much flex, but one I havent posted, so I thought I could post in your "matrix"

Thanks,

I think I am done, just have to fix the stuff that went wrong during the test run, retorque U-bolts, and a few maintanence things.
But I will be doing a lot of bodywork on rusty in a few years, and maybe your edjumacation might help.

Cheers,
Deny

You probably can't see this, but maybe. I had weird issues with the forum at one point and found that hitting the F5 key a lot helped fix it.

To get this thread back in the right direction, here are a few pics of how I finished up this weekend.
Welded on some heavy duty rear shock mounts, might have to get smaller washers, cause the 3/4 in washer is just huge. Got some rubber mud flaps from Kim to make washers for my antiwrap bar, now it's quiet. and put another sticker on.

Just a bit of an update, so far everything works good, and might stay like this all summer, just wheel the piss out of it.
Cheers,

Well I thought I would update this one, since I am doing some work on it this winter, prepping it for some winter wheeling. Last weekend did the glow plugs and pulled off the front head lights as you can see from my pics for good reason (notice the lamps are dirty from the inside, and cracked, and somewhat broken) Anyway, while I am there, decided to respray the bezel, cause there was a lot of rock chips on it. Still a little to do, Lindsay mentioned I should make a list so I don't forget, so here is my list, so I can see it anytime I am on here:
-clean air filter
-clean battery terminals
-adjust rear brakes (for ebrake purposes)
-get new tires and rims
-fit chains
-(I might think of more, but this is minimum, anything else is bonus!)
Cheers,
Deny

That one light has looked like that as long as I've known you Deny. How are you liking the aussie locker? What are your plans for new tires and rims, the 33x12.50 TSL's you mentioned earlier?

Oh, I think you forgot, 'bolt on the turbo thats been sitting in a box for 3 years so I can drive it to rivershiver', as an item for your list.

Yeah I actually got those lights for when I took it hunting, just never installed them, but I want to be ready for some night runs for sure.

The aussie locker has been great, I don't know if it would be great if it still was my daily driver, but it rocks off road, and the limited highway and city use it gets doesn't really bother me. Pretty much rolled in 2 wheel drive the whole time I was hunting, even when it rained on the super muddy roads. It did help to do some minor body damage to my truck during wheeling season though, cause it just kept going even when my truck was laying a bit on it's side, denting and riping fenders and fender flares.

Tires will be the 33X12.5 TSLs, while the rims will be the white wagons again, but with 2.5 backspacing. They'll stick out a little.

Yeah the turbo project will probably happen sometime this summer (hopefully) since it's too damn cold to do bigger projects outside, and the mine truck is taking up all the room in the shop.

Truck's looking good!
How is your track bar holding up? Do you like the position/mounting? Does it impact flex at all?

Thanks,

Track bar is holding up well. The only problem might be that the bolt up on the crossmember gets loose the odd time, but I think I could fix that with a longer bolt and either double nuting it or lock nutting it. I think it might bang around a little under quick flexing, like going through crossditches, but also might just be my springs (leafs hitting the wrappers that I opened up)

I guess I never included the part where I had the driveshafts lengthened and first trip out on August long I snapped them (due to machining). 2nd time through they did up super beefy driveshafts and I have been hammering on it ever since, track bar has not snapped and it seems like I get no axle wrap. I'll probably build the same bar for my mine truck, but most likely with 3/4in tractor parts instead of the 1in.

The location seems to be ok, I just didn't have room due to my fuel tank, and figured one off center is still better than nothing.

As for flex, I don't know if it hampers it, since I never tried flexing without it, but it seems to flex pretty nice.

Cheers,
Deny

edit, heres a flexy pic from september long, cause everybody likes pics:

Well, this weekend sort of went awry and I didn't get much done on my mine truck or the 42. But I did get the 42 together and insured enough to go wheeling on saturday. Started off by going to pick up a parts truck. Thanks Nathan. Then we decided to go wheelin in the afternoon. was pretty simple wheeling, cause there wasn't too much snow, but still the snow up here has such a sugary texture, some times it can be tough to get through snow filled frozen mud ruts. Only took one pic of wheeling and that was of Nathans truck, but heres a pic of my truck as it stands, almost ready for River Shiver (note, have to take the roof rack off still which I put on for hunting)
Cheers,
Deny

Ok, here are a few more. note Nathan built this as a last resort (so this ain't no show truck/ expensive tube buggy), since the body and rear frame were pretty much gone. He pulled the engine/tranny/transfer out to keep for parts for himself, so there isn't much left, but a few good pieces that will come in handy for my mine truck, my dads truck, and my brothers 60 (4.11s).
Cheers,
Deny

Sweet, let me know when you plan on installing that and I`ll give you a hand. You might not pass the dodge, but you will kill my 42.

Spent the long weekend trying to put together a homebrew D-50 turbo kit, by doing some jim shim exhaust manifold extension. Didn't finish, since I had a lot of guess work and fittment issues since I couldn't move my already adjusted air box due to my snorkle. Also had a few snapped manifold bolt problems and found that I still need a few more small peices. Will get some pictures up as soon as I renew my star.
Cheers,
Deny

Turbo time, sweet .
Been running ok since getting back from River Shiver? Ever find out what it was stumbling/missing under load?

Not all together figured out, but It could be a combination problem. first the drain screw in the side of the injection pump was leaking, I tightened it, but next start up I still had a bit of shacking and rought running. I changed fuel filter prior to this, so maybe got some air still in after bleeding which worked its way out later. Then I changed my air filter, and ever since it ran good. Also the exhaust manifold was leaking bad (this is why I decided to turbo, had to do some exhast work any way cause I snapped a bolt trying to tighten it). Finally recently I was looking at my injection pump with my brother to see how to turn up the fuel, which I don't have a screw I got the hac (which bruce said is the way to turn it up in my truck ) and we noticed that it was really loose. Once I get all those sorted I should hopefully be runnig ok again.
Cheers,
Deny
