16 inch factory 80 wheels

Anyone have a set of these? I'd sure like some as mine are a bit too banged up to refinish. Thanks

Down in Richmond by Graybar Rd. Green Automotive? $250 each to make like new- Was hoping for a more inexpensive solution as I have rather 'overextended' my Cruiser budget this year. Oh well, still cheaper than the big lease payment I would have had otherwise. And my apologies again for the annoying delay re the springs. I will call Pt Roberts today to see if the shaft is there...

wow...thats pretty tax. did you see what panther would charge? my buddy had his set of 80 alloys refinished for about 5ish all in from somewhere in surrey. they did an awesome job. if you're interested, i could find out if he can still score that. they were heavily pitted, but straight for the most part except one which they didnt straighten.

Last year, Panther told me their min charge per alloy rim was $200. I opted for old 15" steelies which I repainted. I would of bought new rims from Steve before Panther would have seen any of my money.

Yeah, Steve has those 16" IONs, that are really nice, and I think they are cheaper than getting your stockers refinished. When I do the brake upgrade, I will be getting a set of those. It's a shame I would like to keep the 15's I got on right now, so I can use them for winter tires. It would've been nice if they would still fit the bigger brakes.

Doh! I guess I missed the "factory" part of the equation... nevermind, I'll go back to my 60 corner now.

Yeah- I understand the factory wheel is forged, rather than cast making it superior to most aftermarket wheels. Am I accurate here or should I back away from the bong?

never EVER back away from a bong..thats just disrespectful

yes the oem 80 alloys are forged. they are far superior to most aftermarket wheels...and they feel alot lighter too. when i swapped the oem tires/wheels from my 4runner to 80s with 285 MT/Rs...it actually felt lighter. if only the 80 wheels came wit a 4" or 3.75" BS..thatd be ideal. im a huge fan of 80 wheels having hoarded about 3.5 sets in the last couple years. much better option for any 6 bolt toy 4X4 needs IMO and theyve got a classic look that never seems to be dated...
