I guess one thing that bugs people is waiting in a traffic jam at the bottom of Falcon Hill while goofs with bald tires and 2WD hold everybody up on a hot afternoon. (Not our club, for sure)

So I just got some very bad news, 1st is the very large possibility that I have an out of town job happening at the end of the month that will last almost 2 weeks, and the other is that it's in Fort St. John, B.C., as well as the fact that I can't take my truck up there due to the amount of stuff needed for the job - so no off roading while I'm there. If this goes through then I won't be able to make it. I hope the cheque bounces or the stuff doesn't show up in time.

So, the tentative plan for the Whipsaw trip is for people leaving Friday morning, August 1, to meet at the Timmy Horton's on Lickman Road, Chilliwack, after you fuel up. Time to be arranged, most likely around 10:00 a.m. but don't quote me just yet. I believe Barry, Chris, Gary T, and I will be there; probably others as well. Gary & I will be stopping in Princeton to pick up his sister. Its going to be hot & dusty. Bring bathing suit for Lodestone swimming.

Well I've been informed that after this weekends mosquito feeding frenzy, the ain't going unless we have some kinda large industrial 20 acre 'skeeter vac! or at least some kinda 12v variety to kill all them little bastards lingering in the tent and truck.
My kids look like they have chickenpox

You've never heard of "Deep Woods Off"?
I just transfered my Tuffy box from the BJ, I noticed I had a bit of bug spray in the truck, which is all in the HJ now. Here's the count: 2 spray cans of Muskol, 1 spray can Deep Woods, 3 100ml pump spray Muskol and 2 100ml pump spray Deep Woods. I don't like being skitter food. I pretty much keep the kids lathered up as well.

..and lots of it. But the problem really was it was prime 'skeeter time when we rolled into camp. Then with setting stuff up, all the doors wide open getting in and out, truck and tent filled with mosquitoes.
And I do mean filled.
I'm not a huge fan of having anything burning inside where I'm sleeping, not that we remembered to bring any citronella/coils/etc anyways.

Sorry Craig, I found out that I am not leaving town before Whipsaw so I can go. As usual I am scheming a trip out of there to some other areas after the first night. I know there are some (the Polish team) interested in heading out of Lodestone and exploring with different camp spots each night. I just have not finished routing a trail.

Stinger UV15

I have a Stinger UV15 (from Costco) in my garage for little flies that seem to hide from the sun during warm days. I can't say how it works in the bush against skeeters, but it is not very effective in killing those little annoying flies I have in my garage.

If I remember from last year, the bugs are bad, but no where near as bad as they are in the North West Territories, Thanks Jeff.
