the maiden voyage

Great trip, thanks everyone for the good times. A little on the hot and dry side, but really wasn't too bad, what with the very chilly ac and console fridge
We stopped off to visit some friends at Jones lake on the way home, damn its nice there. I had always been under the impression BC Hydro charged to use the sites there, but its totally free, and kept way nicer than a lot of the pay sites. Looks to be some wheeling trails up there as well, I'll try and find out more info.
But I have some work to do on the 81, Busted the exhaust hanger off that huge bling exahust tip I have, my front shocks need new bushings at the top of the towers (totally blown out), and I have some annoying squeal out of the fan belt now as well.
I did take out that sushi tabel or whatever it was, I can fill the whole sleeping compartent up now with an air mattress, looks like I can fit all four of us in there if need be.
And now a few pics. I didn't take that many, my camera sucks and I just forgot to most of the time.

camp site at Ernest Lake

Lake was kinda marshy along the edges, but the kids sure had a blast catching shrimp, leeches, and frogs.

Big birds nest, general consensus was that it was an Osprey.
Brianna wanting her own steering wheel.
And one of the many marshes along the way.

Whats the nardi torinos? Mine are 2 and 4 as well, I think we'll bring the tent along next trip, just in case.

Nardi's the steering wheel, seen a few now with the same steering wheel. Kinda funny how most jdms are all accessorized with new steering wheels, tires, window drip covers, fog lights etc.

That was discussed this weekend, we figure it's the nature of the highly competitive Japanese and wanting to outdo the next guy.

A good trip with some ups and downs, I am sure Bill will do a write up and I will fill in the details of the trip when he was supervising the camp. We all left around 10:30 - 11:00 on Tuesday and Bill and Glenn took off to Merritt right away while Garry, Craig and myself took a more "scenic" route. As far as I know all arrived in good condition (at least Craig and I did), and I will give details tomorrow. Thanks to all who were there and made this another good trip.
Garry, let us know if you made it home.

Did anyone happen to notice what kind of temperatures we hit this weekend? At one point I thought it might snow, it was so cold inside my 81

Sure is nice with AC right Jeff. Takes wheeling to a different level. I sure love mine. We got in shortly after midnight. Now we are cleaning out the 74 and I am looking at the injector pump and trying to figure out why we burned 110 liters for 660 km. Thanks everybody the 3 of us had a great time. Getting ready for heading up north right now.

Somehow the trip home was almost traffic free, amazing end to a great weekend. Might have to put an amp back on the location beacon to fill in the gaps on the map, not a bad track for .2 watts of RF power.

It was a great trip, lots of fun and games.
I was busy today chasing the squirrels out of my attic and plugging holes with chicken wire and applying Tobasco Sauce to the areas. Didn't fall off the ladder this time. Like my bike, I'm two-tired to do more tonight!
Will write up the trip tomorrow. ...zzzzz...
~Bill

Wouldn't that affect the tenderness of a squirrel...with its holes all plugged up with chickenwire, dripping with tabasco sauce in those areas?

Sue, you have a great eye and I always enjoy looking through your pics. I guess now I should get motivated and do mine, still haven't even uploaded the ones from the previous trip - oops.
