I just sent Glenn the GPS file for the Garmin. I would highly recommend the first night spot to be Scuitto Lake where we camped, there is enough room for all the trucks and the last time we only had visitors once. It is a little windy but at least it keeps the bugs down. From there you still have easy enough access to many other trails and it is less crowded then Ernest with more room. Just talked to Marcin and he might be having some scheduling complications so our little trip might be canceled. If that is the case I will join up with you guys, regardless, I am heading out of town Saturday morning.

Coquhalla is clear and we did the bypass there and back last weekend. Had moderate trouble with one patch of snow on the way in on saterday morning, by sunday it was a cake walk, we did it in 25 minutes driving about 30 km/h.

Is anyone still going to be camping on monday? My wife and the kids decided we'd go for an overnighter monday to tuesday. I would imagine the fishing is pretty good up there as well.

All of it was mentioned at the meeting as well as the report from our last visit. I have made up my mind but Marcin might have to cancel and I still am going wheeling. If you don't want me to go hang out with you guys, fine I'll do my own thing, and since when do you complain about having to go wheeling?

I'm planning on a noon departure on Friday. We'll be tailing Aaron by a few hours, but I'm sure Aaron will get sidetracked (poke, poke) so we might be first. Of course, I now have no idea where were camping... will it be Ernest Lake or Scuitto Lake.

We might head up sometime Saturday in the wagon. That is, if I get the radiator back from the shop by tomorrow afternoon. The front driveshaft has me worried so I might be heading up mostly just for the camping and fishing rather than wheeling .

For those hams that will be going here is a good source of local repeater information. Kamloops Amateur Radio Club Repeaters

Saterday from 11 am to Sunday 11 am is Field day the most popular on-the-air operating event in amateur radio so there should be lots of activity on the radio.

I will be monitoring VE7RVA IRLP Node 1461 and other local IRLP repeaters (1980,1694,1190...)this weekend throw to the first. Hope you all have a good time.

He only has one with a five speed and I think he might be needing it . I think my d.shaft is the wrong length (too short), so I'm worried it'll either separate or twist the slip joint. I'll see what I can come up with by Saturday.

EDIT: ok, wrong assumption on the driveshaft. It's the right one it's just worn and has lots of deflection in the slip joint. Looked extended but it's not. Still will be in the market for a replacement.

Not sure how late it will be before I head out; maybe see you guys on the road.

It looks like Steve T is not coming Sat.
So, Gary T, Glenn from Victoria, and myself will leave from Gary T's place in Coquitlam on Sat morning around 8:00 - 8:30 a.m., heading for Lickman Road and on to Coquihalla. Don't forget the Fall Lake exit near the summit! And watch for radar on the long downhill streches!

I am still waiting to hear back from Marcin but it's looking more and more like I will be joining you at Roche. I will be heading out Saturday morning-ish. I still recommend the South tip of Scuitto for a spot, so if Ernest is looking crowded I would head for that. There is a nice little trail that crosses the power lines and heads up to Scuitto from Ernest area. There have been some changes to the trails over there so the Backroads maps will not be 100% correct. I will call Dan on Saturday to let him know what I'm doing.

How about that 47 vehicles heading for Whipsaw this weekend? How would you like to be #46 waiting at the bottom of Falcon Hill? YIKES!

Just talked to Mat. We are heading up Sat morning. If Ernest lake is too crowded, we're heading to Scuitto Lake. Anyone into going there instead of Ernest?

We are heading to Ernest L and checking it out and see if Aaron and Dan are there. If they are not, then we will probably head for Scuitto too.

I'm packed...I think! Just have to toss the cooler inside in the morning and ready to go.

Even bringing the kitchen sink And of course my "little" flashlight, just in case anyone needs to make it daylight for an emergency bathroom trip in the middle of the night.

For everyone leaving Saturday morning...are we staging up anywhere along the way?
