Todays wheeling

It was a lovely day to be driving around with the top off 'fo sure. After stopping off at EBI to see if anyone wanted to join me (they didnt, something about home..dinner..kids) it was onward and upward to Eagle Ridge.
I had picked up a buddy earlier (Derek) for the shotgun position, this was his 2nd time 'wheeling and 2nd time to Eagle Ridge. It was a pretty but uneventful ride up to the top, we did encounter a wee bit of snow, but its disapearing fast. We had a quick stop at Cypress Lake, then proceeded on to the upper lookout, but there were way too many bent over trees blocking the path for my lazy ass to chop down. I need to add 'buy chainsaw' to my to do list.
So we turned around and went up to the other view point, took the obligatory poser shots, sat around for a bit and headed down.
I turned off at the intersection to the 'hard road' and took that line down. The old bridge that had washed away and had stopped me on my previous trip has been filled in with lots of logs and was a cake walk across. On the way down, putting along in 1st and low, I was told there was a large hole coming up near the passenger side. Yah yah..its just a little drop. Well it turned out to be deeper than I thought, and with my drivers side rear tire about 4' in the air and the truck teetering pretty good, blipped the throttle and pulled out of it.
One new crease on the seat but otherwise no problems.
After getting back on the main road and nearing the water tower, we came across some people in a full size blazer seemingly stuck at the 2nd obstacle past where the paved road/water tower is. It turned out they had busted the rear drive shaft, and the spare as well. I tugged them backwards, and then they got turned around, then tugged them thru the next obstacle as well.
Now we were down at the bypass, and it was getting dark fast. With only front wheel drive on the blazer, some good 'ol V8 tugging was required to get the blazer thru most of the bypass.
After stopping to replaced one busted tow strap, I noticed a lot of smoke billowing out from under my hood. It seems my front master cylinder reservoir lid (the rubber kind) had somehow lost its ability to stay sealed from all the heat and was splashing brake fluid all over the header. One stinky mess.
So several hundred zap straps later it was sort of secured and the tugging continued.
It was now about 11, and I would turn into a pumpkin soon, so the blazer was loaded onto its awaiting trailer (how handy was that!), and I disapeared into the night.

I'll upload what pics I have shortly, and Derek took some video too!

My poser shots. I've never really had a chance to view what actual flex I get since Rob tuned up my rear suspension and added the traction bar. I still need to relocate the rear shocks...and get some new ones.

even more pics

Gotta luv the star! I'll send the whole batch off and get them up on the clubs website as well.

June 1st and still some snow!

Stopped to admire the busy beavers handiwork. And sure enough right after this we saw a beaver in the pond. Took some video of it swimming around, but with just a camera it's not the greatest.

And some video fun. Not the greatest quality, and as usual with pics and video it never does it justice. Or perhaps its just that a Landcruiser makes everything look easy
