| That was a good read. It looks like an interesting trail.
I'd be game after I added a winch to my truck.

costcos selling those 'champion' winches again. Apparently a good bang for the buck, made in China of course. The same company who makes Mile Marker apparently.
Princess auto is also seeling a 8000 lbs for $444. I did see some Tabor (Warn) being advertised somewhere at a pretty reasonable price.
A used 8274 can be had for around 500 bucks.
I'll post a link up to bc4x4 about the costco winches in another thread. |

| Talk to Mike Allen from PG.
When we were at the Quesnel, he said he would take us in there whenever we want. He knows the trail well, so even just to ask some tips would be good.
The locals here did part of the trail a few years ago, and are planning to go back there next year.
Cheers,
Deny |

| I know Mike Allen from "my 4WDABC days". If he says he'll take "us", it will be a great trip. Someone better get in touch with him soon - they'll probably already have something planned for that weekend.

I forgot, Mike Allen is doing a trip with us sort of on July Long I think. We are trying to pass through the rockies near Tumbler Ridge, and we are pressing through that side, while Mike Allen's PG club are trying to get in from the west.
You can still contact him about advice though, and the PG club might only be trying on the August long, but I know we are trying both long weekends.
Cheers,
Deny |

I recall talk about this trail when I was at the Crawl a few years back. This would be what it's all about eh? I'm with Rod...get Elsie fixed and lets hit the Crawl at PG May Long 2008.. Then, what better way to make plans for a joint Alexender Mackenzie trail club run (Swamp Donkeys, Rocky Mtn Folk, Coastal Cruisers, and the PG folks showing the way)...

| Was talking to Kim about this trail, since he has done it, and he said, won't be a good idea to go in untill august long or september long, since there is one huge river crossing.
Cheers,

| I like the sound of some new stuff. Doesn't matter how long the drive is, in many cases you have to go far to see something new and exciting (and sometimes it's right around the corner).
On a side note (stealing the thread), Mike McT gave me a crazy idea. He said that if you go south of Chilko into Taseko lake, the mountain there is over 3000 Meters. There is a trail there that leads almost to the peak. Mike told me it can be done, but I am thinking closer to the end of summer otherwise we are not even getting close to it.
