Hi Ali, welcome aboard.

I see you've already popped into the long weekend thread, hopefully we can get something together.

Hey guys

my name is Guy, just moved to edmonton about 2 weeks ago i guess. moved from a place just north or Victoria which is where most of my cruisers still reside...however im driving a '81 BJ42 that i drove out here whenever i can and can afford it. im here for school so im riden the bus most of the times which sucks but....hey, its life.got my "C" level welding ticket and im goin to school for mech engineering tech at NAIT. been into cruisers since i was about 16 and still have my first truck...which is now my bush truck and was under construction when i left the island, she's shelfed till i go back for x-mas and have 2 weeks to work on it again...

looken forward to a wing/beer night or any activity...i know basically nobody in town, let alone cruiser heads so i was pretty stoked to find your forum here. anyways, ill toss up a pic of the truck i got here.

would be interested in any chance to wheel it on weekends

nd a link to my not updated build on my bush truck....

Nice to have you aboard Guy. If the 42 in the pic is representative of the condition of all your trucks, I'm jealous.... Heck, even if only it is that clean I'm still jealous.

The next wing/beer night will likely be in around the 23rd, a few of us just got back from a long weekend trip, but I think we have a hankering for more trail time, and there are more that are Jonesing for something more local and paint friendly.... so hopefully we can get out again before the snow starts to fly.

haha...she's got her issues, some rust going through in the floor boards and i need to make new seat frames at some point in the future...im without pretty much all of my tools for the time being though...till i go back to BC in the summer. but she gets me from A-B.

Im game for pretty much anything that might be capable inna stocker, not really concerned about paint however i cant go breaking axles shafts, birfs ect on every outing as i just dont have tools or space to do major work on my truck...i will be checking this section often as i can...hopefully before snow flies...even after maybe, just be bloody cold!

that truck probably in the best shape of my 2 1/2 trucks, the floor boards on my FJ40/bush truck look like a patchwork quilt and the 45 that my dad and i own is in dire need of a frame off, problem being we already have his BJ42 stripped down to a rolling chasis so...yea

looken forward to some beer and wings for sure

That BJ42 is gorgeous. I always love going to BC every summer, it seems everywhere I go I'm pointing out every Land Cruiser I see. I'm in NAIT as well, taking business year 1. You may end up seeing my hj60 around campus sometime.

Every year our family slowly make its way from Edmonton to the Peachland area, usually stopping in Cranbrook, Nelson, Revelstoke just to name a few places. Some years we go as far as Vancouver. I spent a bit of time early this year in Parksville/Naniamo visiting and doing some skiing. It's amazing how on the island I could ski, mountain bike, and ocean kayak all in the same day. I absolutely love B.C., especially around Nelson; I plan to move out there as soon as I'm done my schooling here.

new owner...

hi everyone...
rocdoc just poked me into posting

my names mike...moved out here about 13 years ago now, from nova scotia.i'm a senior field technician for a construction service company.just tripped over my 60 when i was looking for a spot to turn around over on the east side.the second of two po's had basicially lost interest and left it to slowly die.this is my first import of any kind...crawling all over it now, getting it ready for -30*.i can already see the vintage cruisers have some unique features that make them nice to work on...like drain plugs in the pumpkins...what a concept
been of-roading for many years, although not so much lately due to work, but hope to get out more in the future.
sorry i missed the last wing night...i'm working nights out at shell until further notice, but look forward to another one.hope to make it and see more of you out on the road...cheers

If you want to make it out for a wing night (or some light wheeling etc.) feel free to suggest what times/days work best.

Just bought my first LC - 1982 BJ42 RHD. Love it so far, but looking forward to putting some work into it.

A nice rust free 42  Did that come over from Japan or Australia/NZ? (Aus I guess, just noticed the NSW license plate)

Keep an eye on the Oct get together thread, hope you can make it out.

Hi everyone,

My name is Jason. I live in Edmonton and just picked up an HJ61 this fall. Switching over from a Series Land Rover to the TLC and a Conqueror Compact as the family travelling/overlanding/camping vehicle.

I was glad to see that there is a start to a LandCruiser group here; the Rovers have a good presence here in Edmonton so when they kick me out of the club for buying a Cruiser I will have somewhere to go.

I think you just did

Saw your e-mail forwarded from Bruce, glad to see you've posted up.

So far we're a pretty informal group, get together every month or so for a pub night, have had a few loosely organized day or long weekend wheeling trips. Kind of bring to the table what you will.

The "club" started a little less than a year ago when we got this corner of mud set up, and I PMed all the Edmonton area guys I could find on mud. Nowhere near as organized or big as the RMLCA at this point. I think I've seen about 15 different faces show up at the pub so far.
