Bandeirante Pics

I have a coworker who has a business in Brazil that takes people on tours.
He has a yellow Bandeirante 45 with a custom double cab / box.
Enjoy!

I agree!
Those Mercedes power-plants are amazing, from what I have heard.
They have built in air-compressors for all sorts of air applications.

Mercedes Benz diesel. All the early Bandy's came with MB 4 cylinder diesels.

Later Bandy's got the 1HZ or MB diesels.

so did they mate with diesel the toyota t-case/tranny then? or is that benz too? and if so, has anyone tried to source this diesel motor and plopped it in their 40...?

i know some guys here that are puttin the 5 cyl. diesel benz motors (from the 300sd turbo diesels) in their 1st/2nd gen runners, i think they're on their 3rd swap...amazing.

Are the MB diesels more powerful than the Toyota motors, or more durable? Are they 4 cylinders?

Do you have any links or pics for that? Im curious as to how they would have done a 1HZ into a 4* series.

When I lived in Brasil, I personally drove, and almost bought, a 1995 Bandy Cabine Dupla that had factory installed 1HZ. I think the Toyota motor was an 'upgrade' option over the MB motor. I bought a 2001 Hilux Cabine Dupla with 2.8 Diesel and garret Turbo and 90K km's, instead

And here are some photos from my new baby: A 1992 Toyota Bandeirante.

I bought it 3 weeks ago with 108.543km/67.445mi! I'm the second owner of this car and bought it just because the last owner died and his son didn't want the car for himself.

Some photos from when I bought it:

Both engines MB OM and Toyota 14B are 4cyl, the main diference between them is that 14B is hi speed and MB are not, but MB engines are forever lasting motors...they are used in many MB heavy trucks and busses, and are able to run over 1 million kilometers on duty! The Toyota 14B is a good engine also but the MB are stronger!

Best regards!!!
