WANTED: 80-series Cruiser or LX450
Wanted: Creampuff-stock or Built-Creampuff
I'm on the hunt for a low miliage 94 to 97 80-Series Land Cruiser or LX450.
with factory Lockers, and in real good to excellent condition.
I'm posting here in hopes of finding something close to home.
My end thought is to have a Cruiser that is in very good mecanical condition, 35" tire's, 4.88 gears, lockers, Bullbar & winch, rock sliders. rear tire carrier & Bumper, Snorkle, trail armor, lower low range, so four adults can ride in comfort.
If you have one like this,or one with potential, please let me know!
I have a 85 4Runner (very modified) rock crawler/exploration vehicle with full exo cage, I will be putting up for sale soon, or possible trade.
I "dont" need to wait to sell mine to buy yours!
Thank you for your time.

Once in a while one get traded in at the dealership I work at. They end up wholesaling them most every time. I will keep an eye open and post up whenever it happens as lately it seems alot of folks are moving into the 80's on this forum...
We even had a 40 traded in last year but it was a little rough. I can always tell them to hold any wholesale unit for an interested party. The only drawback is the sales tax versus private party.
Have you considered maybe an early model 100 series w/ a V8?

Thanks for whatching for me!
Yes, I have considered a 100 with the v8, but I'm some what nostalgic.
How ever, I have thought about doing a solid axle swap on a 100, that would be cool!
My style of wheeling tends to be more hardcore, and I know a solid axle will hold up better for the kind of wheeling and places I tend to take a vehicle.
I have a vehicle now ( a heep ) that is set up as very hard core rock crawler, and will be so even more soon.
I just want something with more room in it for passengers & gear for more exploration and touring than my 4Runner. my heep I'll keep for hard crawling and comps.
P.S. SELL ME YOUR 96!! LOOK IN TO MY EYES!!!

Thats like asking how much do you want your payments to be at a dealership.
Honestly? what ever it takes to get the right deal on the right vehicle.
I'm not looking to get fleased, and have a real good idea of what things are worth and what it will cost to build what I want.
I am a true oppertunist, and am looking for a deal (like every one else) that being said, I am looking for quality, and thats not often given away. I dont mind paying a little more for quality!
Especially, if I dont have to fly to Pennsylvania os some place to find it!
I'm willing to listen, look and deal. and dont mind paying for something I "really" want!
If you have something "really special" let's talk!!! if it's already built, it save me time & money!
What do you have?
Dont be bashfull,, I'm not.

That's mine. I just put it on CL last night, haven't gotten around to posting it here yet. FJ40LVR, was that you in a 4runner on Saturday? I waved, but too late... I am selling my 80, already sold my minivan, and we're gonna be looking at getting a 100 series to replace both of them.

I bought the truck from another MUDer in 2005. It's Toyota Dune Beige 0416, the old FJ40 tan color. I really like the color. The paint job's getting a little rough though. Think "trail rig", not something you'd drop off with the valet...

Toyota actually made the "Desert Dune" as a color option but only in 1997 which I feel is one of the best colors on a 80 series. It just looks right. I dont see too many of them running around. I think they are even more rare than the 40th Sage edition for that model year (which is my other favorite color on the 80).

Rob, for what it's worth, that is a really clean rig. Just what my family will be looking for when we can afford the jump.

I'm gonna miss it, but honestly, I can count on one hand the number of times I've gone wheeling in the last 2 years. Just doesn't make sense to have it parked there for so little use. So we're gonna take it down a notch with a '99 or '00 100 series. Will put an OME lift on it as well as step sliders for the girls and at least 285's on it for some easy trail running. I figure with the 100, we're more likely to get a tent trailer and do more camping with the familiy. The 80 isn't the ideal tow rig. I can't figure out how to embed a flickr video, but here's the 80 on the mud hill at the north end of Box Canyon.
