That's what Table Mesa Rd looked like when GoodGuns did their cleanup. (And prolly looks like again, since it likely needs constant cleanup.)

Yes, depending on the turn out I may decide to send some folks over there too. It is a mess there too and its near the highway.
I need a couple clean up area team leaders.
Requirements:
GPS or knowledge of lower four peaks.
2 meter radio or a CB.
Can you email me at timothy_huber@hotmail.com if you up for it.
Thanks,
Tim

Count me in with the HJ... and the trailer I had at the Fossil Creek cleanup. I'll plan on bringing it, unless I hear different...
And, if everything works out (...though I don't suppose I'll need it), this will likely be the maiden voyage for a new ARB rear-locker install, driven by a new 24-volt compressor.
(Somebody, who has a strong yank-strap, highly recommended at least one locker after pulling my HJ's tail over a big step in Box Canyon last fall. Thanks again, BMan It should be in sometime soon. )

Good to hear Tom. That one locker would have made the difference that day. Your trailer will be great to have as we'll need to make some trips back and forth I'm sure. The FS is working on some rolloffs now. So we'll need to get crap from the furthest back location out to the rolloffs at least a couple times during the day.

Okay, You can tell that I wrote this info below for all of the clubs. You guys are the kings. Thank you guys for all of your support. Very impressive! Besides the weirdo president (impeachment?) you guys are top notch! haha!
A couple of updates!
Good Gun Foundation has donated some money to the cause as a giveaway! As well as some members coming to help. I'm excited to see responsible shooters step up.
Oakley has given some sun glasses to give away. (thanks CSC!)
The Tacoma Territory, Xterra Owners Club , Copper State Cruisers, and Virtual Jeep Club have stepped up to make it an official run of theirs!
The Copper State Cruisers have stepped up with a giant grill that can cook 80 burgers at a time! YIKES thats a lot of cow. mmmm!
Some folks are bringing a rake if they can. Its not a neccessity, but it will help with the shells and glass being picked up!
The Forest Service is going to bring a couple of Roll Off Dumpsters too!
REI is donating some Clif bars for the volunteers. REI Clearance: Up to 50% Off on Outdoor Clothing and Accessories for Skiing, Snowboarding, Camping and More
Big thanks to Nicole at Total Chaos for donating some great DVD's for the give-away! 2008 Total Chaos Fabrication

Tim,
All great news. The grill however is being provided by Border Construction Specialties, my company. This event is now an official charity event for our company also which will hopefully mean an additional 10-20 volunteers. I'm working with our charity committee to iron out the monetary particulars for our food needs. Hoping to get some rough counts over the next week so that I can start working out the burger budget.

If we have as big a turnout as it sounds like, we really need to get some media attention. What is planned or what are our resources for this?

None planned yet. Tim's been trying to get any one of the news channels on it to no avail. You have anything?

Well, one thing I thought is it might be a good 1 pager with pics for TT - I know wrong audience for public awareness, but its a start...
How about as a contribution to any of the local outdoor magazines, etc?

Howdy! I can take a hint. I'm workin on it, but unfortunately, it appears that the white collar ears at PNI are pretty deaf to the blue collar voices. I have tried several different approaches to make contact, and they just don't seem to want to know about it. I think I might do better at Channel 12, as Gannett owns them too. I'm still workin on it. John

Thanks for the help guys. Media is a tough one. I'll let you know what I've done so far and take any suggestions you've got.
I hope you guys don't mind me posting the logo's. I want to give credit and thanks to the companies helping out.
I wanted to thank Border Construction Specialties for stepping up big with the giant grill. Brandon, the president of Copper State Cruisers has gotten burgers and the use of this trailer sized grill donated for the clean-up! Thank YOU!

I posted fliers in the REI in Paradise Valley and I am going to put some up around work tomorrow. I gave a couple of fliers to my daughter to post at ASU Tempe campus.

I know a producer at Channel 12 (did a piece on one of my buildings last Spring...) and a reporter at Channel 3 (his son was one my wife's students)...
Before I contact them, give me the latest "5 key points" to entice either of them with... (number of rigs, groups involved, area covered, sponsors... you know). Oh, and who the contact(s) should be, with contact info, so they can make arrangements as necessary...
PM me directly if you want...

PM sent. I wrote what I could think of. I'd like to email you the flyer, map and area photos. The photos seem to grab people the most.
Thank you.

"I voted today" at the RSVP link...
Also, I heard from my contact at Channel 12... she says they're interested, and may cover it, but are swamped right now with managing stories related to some "big football game" coming up (anyone know what that might pertain to? ).
Anyway, she said they will probably follow up after the "big game"... So, Tim, keep your ear to the ground, if you haven't heard from them yet. If you don't hear from them by end of day Monday after the game, let me know and I will send her a friendly reminder...
