Geez, all these people getting together in Phx and Tucson for trail cleanups - almost makes me sad that the trails up here are already clean...
(sigh)

You can come down and help out so you don't have to be sad, or lonely Cody...
I for one am still working on my wife (since the cleanup day is our anniversary) on being in attendance.

What you've got here is all the info I have so far Tim. I'll try to check out Tucson Offroads forum later and see if there is more info.

Hey everyone! We got everything finalized at our meeting last night. Here is the info that we have posted on our site.
The run will be held on Saturday March 8th and will consist of running both the main trail and the lower loop. Only one sign has been destroyed and will be removed. The sign has been run over, shot several times and had the Lowtech plate removed and has been seen on the back of a black jeep here in Tucson. We will be adding American flag stickers to the remaining signs which appear in good condition. We are expecting a bunch of rigs on this run and may break it into two groups if necessary. We are also expecting Roger's kin to be joining us along with others from Copper State Cruisers and several other clubs. For this reason we would like people to post up if they are planning to go so we might get an idea of how many will be attending; and will make plans and start times accordingly. Due to the high expected number of rigs attending and the length of the run, please expect to be spending the majority of the day on the trail. This is a great event, we welcome all who wish to participate, and we are proud to hold it in Roger Krause's honor. Look forward to seeing all you on the trail.
As of right now we are planning on meeting at the last Circle K on Tanque Verde ( Map) at 7:30am and leaving at 8:30am sharp. Depending on how many rigs we have in attendance we may break up into multiple groups and start times. Once we have a good idea of how many folks will be attending I will update the start times and groups.
As far as trash cleanup goes, the majority of the trail is fairly clean. The worst part is right at Three Feathers at the start of the trail.
If you are planning on attending please post up in this thread or the thread for the run at our site ( Thread on our site)
I will also post up by this weekend if we need trash bags or any other supplies.
Thanks
Kyle

We're looking at 70 degrees in Tucson on Saturday. It will be slightly cooler out there, but not much. Bring lots of water and lunch/snacks. The meeting point is the Circle K at 12177 East Tanque Verde Road.
So far we have 5 from CSC attending.
POST UP PEOPLE!

Below was the initial response I receveived back from KGUN9. I did send the update about two weeks ago. I did not hear back so I sent another reminder yesterday. So, we shall see what happens. The news business is a tough gig. If a better story/opp comes up....I can understand. I've asked Jennifer to just let me know.
"Hey John,
Thanks for letting me know. I'd love to be there. I'll put it on the calendar if you could just touch base with me closer to the clean-up and give more specifics.
Thanks again,
Jennifer"

It would be cool to get a few more club reps
Alvin, where do you suggest I meet you guys? Last trip I turned on the 4417 road. Looks like I need to go a little further.

Your map isn't right. Thats not where Chiva is. Meet at the parking lot.
Doesn't look like we're gonna get anymore CSC reps.
Leave Circle K at 8:30 sharp.

Your part of your map that labels the Chiva Falls Parking Lot is correct, the location of the falls is not.
I'm looking forward to meeting all you guys Saturday!

While my current membership in CSC is dubious, even by non-paying member standards. I met Tucson Off-Road through CSC and I will be there on Sat.

Chiva Cleanup - Great Fun
We rode wih Alvin and his daughter. This was great fun. There were more FJ-40s that turned out this time than any other flavor of Toyota - although one FJ-40 only came to "meet and greet" - so I didn't get a picture of him.
This was a TOR sponsored trip - well run and well attended.
At Chiva Falls entry there was some (minor) carnage - a Jeep flipped over on it's side. No damage to the passengers, and only a bent up fender. Good rigging allowed a rapid recovery.
Here's some shots of the crew.
Thanks, TOR for organizing this run, and Thanks, Alvin for dragging me and Carly along!
