Found a '96 LX450 in Phoenix

Hello,

I believe I may have found the one. 96 LX450 , 126,000mi, locked. Lived it's life in Santa Fe then Tuscon then Phoenix. The Lexus Dealer showed that it had the 60K done and a butt load of regular oil changes. I haven't paid the money for Carfax yet.

The current story on it is that it is owned by a Toyota Mechanic who got it for his wife one year ago but her job has changed and she drives all over so he got her a sedan.

He says he has recently done the plugs, fluids, front bearings (not a full birf job) and it has new brake pads.

He's asking 13K OBO, KBB shows 10,225 for one in good condition.

What do you all think is a good offer?

Would really love to hear from a local who would be generous enough to take it for a test drive? PM me.

TR

Shopping for a nice 80 sucks, huh? So many choices! I spent 2+ months and was near spent!

You'll hear some who say $13K is way too high. I think $13K is a bit too high but if it's in great shape, locked (it is), close by (it is) and YOU'RE READY TO BUY....then it's a good choice.

I paid $10.5K for my '97 LX with 115K and it was in great shape. It wasn't locked but it didn't matter because I was re-gearing. I was only out the locker cost ($1600...free compressor) so for comparison I have a locked '97 for $12.1K and I have the better lockers.

$13K locked and ready to lift? Reasonable IMO. Join the 80 Club!

Thanks Shotts,

I think I may have someone willing to take a look at the rig. If it checks out nice I'll start with $10,000 and that will give us both some wiggle room without being rude.
