Trail Runs--Sedona--Saturday May 3rd:

IT'S SEDONA TIME! "SEDONA TIME" = SEDONA TRAILS AND PERFECT WEATHER

THIS YEAR WE'RE GOING TO DO A TRIPLE HEADER! WOO HOO!

COME ON OUT FOR THE FIRST TRAIL, THE FIRST AND SECOND, OR ALL THREE......HERE'S THE SCOOP:

RUN ONE:
Broken Arrow (Typical in and out)

RUN TWO:
Greasy Spoon/Pipeline (We'll run it from west to east)

RUN THREE:
Oak Creek Homestead (aka Cliffhanger)(We'll run it as a loop...in the scenic west loop and out the east)

ALL THREE TRAILS ARE DRIVEABLE IN ANY STOCK LAND CRUISER. If you have modifications like lifts, bigger tires, and/or lockers then there are optional lines more challenging for you.

MEETING PLACE:

Coconino National Forest Visitor Center in the TOWN OF OAK CREEK (NOT Sedona...it's 6-miles south of Sedona.) Watch for signs into the Center along AZ179 on the west side in a shopping center. We can buy our $5 use permit right there.

MEETING TIME: 9:15 AM
PULL OUT TIME: 9:30 AM

TRIP DURATION:

9:30-Noon (Trail one)
Noon-2:30 (Trail two)
2:30-4:00 (Trail three)
Times are approximate and for planning purposes only. We'll have lunch together or you can pick up fast food between trails 1 and 2.

If you plan on attending please post up or drop me an email. THANKS! Hope we see A TON of you folks! AS usual, teaser pics:

BRUSH RATING: 1-2 out of 10 (very little so bring your new 2008 model)

For those who might miss Broken Arrow then come for the other runs. I was asked is we'll be re-meeting at the Visitor Center before run #2?

************************************************** *******************

That's a great question! The answer is no because it's way out of the way from where the trails are. After Broken Arrow some will meet for lunch and some will fast foodit then meet with the others. The time won't be known for certain depending on the number of attendees and traffic on the Arrow.

So, here's the deal..........after Broken Arrow we will break up and re-meet at the McDonalds in WEST SEDONA on US 89A. Some will go to the McDonalds lot and eat their own stuff. Some might grab food there and others can get what they want wherever and meet in the parking lot. We'll leave the lot an HOUR after we end our Arrow run. So, if you're missing the Arrow I'd plan on getting to that McDonalds parking lot on the early side. Noon-ish? Hope to see ya!

WE WILL NOT HAVE WEB ACCESS AFTER WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WE'LL BE OUT OF TOWN THURS-SUN. IF YOU NEED US CALL BECKY'S CELL. 520-404-8971 THANKS!

Story here. Pics at the link below:

Last minute trip, but we still had six attendees representing a mix of vehicles. Two FJ40's, one FZJ80, our UZJ100, a Tacoma, and finally a stock LR3 Land Rover (who did GREAT by the way...VERY impressive...did you know they out-flex both the 100 and 80 series Cruisers?). It was a beautiful day weather-wise. Broken Arrow was teriffic as usual. Great scenery, some challenge and things to watch out for, and the usualy showing off to Pink Jeeps. [:>) After the Arrow we had lunch in West Sedona. Then we headed to the west end of the Pipeline-Greasy Spoon loop trail. Normally the Pipe-Spoon trail is fun fun fun! Today? BORING! OK, the scenery was awesome as usual. What was so boring about it? The challenging canyons and other tougher spots? All filled in with rock or dirt. You could have driven it in a RAV4! In any event, all the people had a great time together. We ended after the Spoon and opted to not run the 3rd trail as it was late. Trail rating today...Broken Arrow 2.5 and we'll give the Spoon a 2.5 as well.
