CROWN KING RUN - April 19
CROWN KING RUN
DATE: April 19, 2008
TRAIL RATING: Mostly 2.5 (stock to modified cruisers)
CB CHANNEL: 19
MEETING TIME: 8:45 am
PULLOUT TIME: 9:00 am
MEETING SPOT: Campbell Mercantile Store (Gas station, food and ice available)
9098 W. Pinnacle Peak Road
Peoria, Arizona 85383
We start out at the Lake Pleasant entrance and go north to Crown King.
We pass many beautiful views looking down at Lake Pleasant.
We pass by one mine that is still being worked and several other that were active in the late 1800nds
Orabel mine
Tiger mine
Savouy mine
Old Savoy mine.
Then finally Crown King mine.
We usually stop at the restaurant and have something to eat and may a cold beer.
This is a very nice run with lots of history. Marcel will bring along some pictures of the mines when they were active and a town was built around them.
If you plan to attend, email cruiserland@msn.com. We will see you next Saturday.

FANTASTIC!
We want to come though we'd need to take Friday off in order to make it. Still not sure.

Yep! My good friend Doron. He just bought this from Scott Brady of Expedition's West (our other buddy). Bummer for Doron. Doron designed the front diff drop for the 100 series and later gave it to Slee. Doron did his and tested and then I did mine. We then ran 35's. to Doron!

Garie,
Thanks for the invite! My 3 month project has stretched to a year now and lots more than just the V8 conversion, but it is almost done now. Probably be running in a week or so. Just in time for it to get hot.
Keep the sunny side up,
Trent

Can I play too!?
I'm down here in Yuma and looking for some wheeling - moved here from Florida in November. I've got my FJ80 here now, and an FJ40 back in Florida - waiting for the house to sell...
What do I need to bring with me to join the AZLCA?

Howdy! I don't know about that John but you do sound a little congested. In fact I think you look a little flush. Is that a bead of sweat I see on your brow? I think your running a low grade fever. By Friday you'll have the full blown flu. You're just gonna havta call off sick. Don'tcha just hate when that happens!! I have it on good authority that long, easy drives in the high desert are great therapy for what ails you. I've been feeling pretty crappy myself, lately. This trip will make it 3 consecutive Saturdays that I have had to go out for "Therapy". (Dr.) John

BTW, everyone is invited on this run whether you're a member of the AZLCA or not. The weather on Saturday will be in the mid 80's.

Home at last! Arrived in one piece.
Had a GREAT time! Enjoyed meeting everyone and doing some wheeling.
If you were watching this thread and didn't go - you missed a good time!

It was with the Cruiser when I got it. I believe it came from the guy that owned it two owners ago.
You know of this Cruiser? It was in Florida back then in the Orlando area when he owned it.
The plate is not there now - when I registered here in AZ I got two plates (Veterans plates) and put that up front. I still keep the Venezuelan plate in the Cruiser - it would be bad karma otherwise...
