Gator wrap up
Thanks to all the OMC members who showed up and helped make this a great event. I think that as a club we left a good impression on all who were there. I really appreciate all the help that was given with providing the chili dinner. You all gave up valuable fun time to help out with this. I want to especially thank Dave for guiding the beginner runs with no help while the rest of us were in one big pack. I know you would have rather been with us and we would of liked to have had you with us.
I also want to thank Marty for giving up his sleep time to help host the early morning meetings. ( 12 am to 4 am). I know that that is well past you normal bed time.

Just wanted to say thanks to OMC for letting me hang out with you at the GATOR event. It was a great time. Look forward to wheeling with you again.
Already working on the 80---bought rear locker, going to pick it up this week.
By the way---what is a good lift for the 80 with 35's?

Thanks for all you guys did! The chili was great, Dave's an awesome leader (and had a big group), Marty's late night tutorials were priceless, and Thad did an outstanding job. I know I've forgotten several, but thanks so much for all your work.
Thanks guys, see ya at the next one!

I don't have an 80, but when I do get one, I'm going with the OME (Old Man Emu).

I'm running 35's with the OME 3" lift (medium spring rate). You get minor rubbing in the rear but that's fixed by spacing down the bumpstops. This is the lower cost option for running 35's. Frankie offroad makes a nice setup for about twice the price of OME. You can always go bigger with the slee offroad stuff 4-6". It's less about how much lift and more about wheel well size...no matter how much lift you're still trying to stuff a 35" tire in a 34.9" opening.
I had a great time. Hopefully we'll start seeing the pictures posted...

From another TACer, I'd also like to thank you guys for all the hard work and the Chili Dinner. Also, a BIG thanks to Marty for the "how to fix a bent draglink" seminar he put on.
Till next time!

Draglink.,
Yes thanks to all for their assistance in getting me off the trail. Parts are on the way to replace the ends. I ordered a SLEE hD draglink and am going to sleeve my spaghetti draglink if I can get a pipe all the way on and keep for a spare along with rod ends for future use or others use.

You could if you didn't wheel it.
With all the weight I carry I would go with OME Heavy springs with 4" of lift. Iron Pig has them on they're web sight. I haven't seen 4" springs any were else.
I'm running OME 3" Heavy with 1" spring spacers on the Crusher and 37" Iroc's which clear the back fine and I trimmed the front fenders.
I also wanted to thank everyone for coming out to GATOR and thanks for all the help. I hope you had as much fun as I did. It took me a week to get caught up on my sleep.
Art, I think we need to do this event at SMORR again next year.

GATOR will not happen in the Central states again until 2011. This way the clubs can do their events next year. You guys should get together with the TAC folks and see if they would be willing to work with you guys on doing a joint event next year. There was some discussion of them moving their event from FN to SMORR.

Marty you only got some bungs from Justin.
I got a whole damn drag link. Plus a sticker. Damn I wish I could weld like the guys at Redline.
For future reference, my old sleeved draglink and ends will be mounted in the spare tire area for others use in case some schmuck log jams a trail again.
