transition b/w wvo/svo and diesel, effects on combustion, IP's...
anyone know the effects of wvo/svo on the IP/IP seals are like compared to diesel....? there's no alchohol or anything corrosive like bioD so i can't see an organic oil do any damage...would changing the fuel back and forth from diesel to veg have any adverse effects on the IP's and seals....? i heard about an hdj81 that is smoking more with diesel but not as much on veg oil (could be other factors...but) . . . or is the smoke just shortly after purging and the veg is mixing with diesel and this causes a unique type of combustion?? maybe not as efficient and more unburnt fuel comes out b/c of the mix?? is this a common symptom of using wvo/svo...or does the diesel fuel system just need cleaning...?
or maybe during purge times there's a weird transition of hot oil mixing with cooler diesel oil and that causes a change in the current viscosity of the fuel just before it gets sprayed into combustion?? and i guess it's safe to assume that there are no adverse effects of wvo/svo on pre 1994 non vitton type seals...? or post with vitton type seals for that matter...? sorry fo the multititude of questions! i've done some searches but didn't find anythig exact...__________________ 1991 HDJ81 VX ltd - bone stock anyone run str8/waste veggy oil on their hdj81? post up! http://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-bc-coasta...ml#post3373049 |
