Some people are not going to be happy that this company is buy what they use to get for free. AFAIK, the prefered oil from the home brtewer is the cleaner french frier oil. Man that stuff in the news report looks like it came from my last oil change! I wonder if they want to buy my used motor oil?

In my town some company came through and signed up almost all the restaurants to collect their oil (free of charge), than they turn around and sell it to the home brewer. Fortunately the restaurant I get my oil from did not sign up. I think it's kinda funny that most bio brewers are the anti big business hippie types and you think buying waste oil from a big business would go against their beliefs, but that is all speculation on my part.

it's unrealistic to think someone would not start up this business, if you are concerned start a co-op or somethin.

i'm quite happy to see this entrepreneur do well and would be happy to buy his product [if it's good], we need more business folk like him here in BC, imo.

The waste oil was never really a waste. The only thing is the food industry had to pay to get rid of it. All these food wastes ended up at a rendering plant and came out as new "food products". Now, it will be a new "fuel products" and the food industry won't have to pay to get rid of it. Given the food industry costs will be collecting incomeinstead of paying an expense then food should be cheaper. At the same time, an increased supply of bio-oils and therefore an incease supply of biodiesel should bring down the costs of biodiesel. Ya, I know - I'm a dreamin!

Good for the entrepreneur to start this business. I was saying I don't know how the "Hippie" type of folks out there are going to feel about buying something that they got for free. Heck I would be a little ticked off if I had to start buying my oil, but so far so good.

I am happy with my one man operation, one restaurant fills my needs for oil. I found once more then one or two people are involved in something, there is always a flake just trying to reap the rewards of others labor.
