Veggie burner

Well, its been a year since buddy went to veggie, he has burned over 600 litres, his fuel bill has went from 500 to 50$ a month and no shortage of oil.

I would definitly go this route with a inexpensive BJ60.

Maybe even a HJ61.

500 a month is pretty high fuel bill.... veggie was made for him.

Ask him though how much time does it take to find all the oil... I am curious.

Also anymore detail about what it's in?

Your math doesn't compute... 600 litres for 50x12 = $600? Surely you meant 6000 litres...

In any case, going down to 1/10 is great, I guess it's the cost of hauling the oil?

With home grown bio the cost, I'm told, is between 1/4 and 1/2... (still lookinbg for a cheap source of methanol in Montreal)

Diesel is almost a dollar a litre, so 600 litres is 600 dollars??

He is running this system in a 1982 BJ60, body at the high end of rust.

Oil is easy to find and he now has more than he needs and has told two restoraunts no for now.

Yes I know, but you're saying his bill went from $500 a month (that is 500 litres at 1 doillar a litre, for a month, isn't it?) to $50 when he switched to veggie (oil). Yet you say in your first post he's burned over 600 litres for a year...

Isn't that a bit confusing?

That's encouraging news as I would expect supply to become scarcer when petrodiesel prices climb up... I'm presently looking at the feasibility of making my own bio at this time, and I need a suply of free oil for at leat two years (6000 litres) to offset my future equipment investment...

Chris
