help with airbags?

I just got a 97 4runner wrecked,the body work looks minor left fender ,bumper ,headlight marker lights,BUT what scares the h$ll out of me is the exploded air bags.I can get a set of used ones but have no idea how to install. Toyota says they can only mess with them if there oem from them,they won't touch used ones,I have to put them back because it's a salvaged title vehicle,any ideas?

No one ever did this? or spend the big $$ and go to toyota ?

Well, there's a whole chapter in the FSM dedicated to the SRS. Yotatech may have links to that year 4rnr, but heres some that may be similar, just make sure the battery has been disconnected several minutes before proceeding.

There's a ton more just on the ecu terminals, wiring diagrams, etc. But that will give you an idea.

Thanks FlatlandTRD, that helps a lot,I didn't even know what SRS mean't. By the way I like your avatar,I have a german shorthair pointer that looks very similar.
