97 T-100

I found a 97 T-100 with 150,00 and a 5speed. Besides the timing belt and the clutch what else goes wrong with these trucks at this kind of mileage? The guy wants $7200 but it hasn't had the timing belt changed or really anything at all except for the oil. I just don't want to walk into something that i'm going to have to dig out of later.
And I could super charge it.

Those are great trucks. Have a look at the firewall where the clutch pedal attaches--it cracks there.

You can supercharge it, but the TRD system is definitely NOT bolt on. Unless you do some extensive fuel management mods, you will have problems with running lean.

Cheers!
Dan

Check for cracking around the passenger spring perch on the axle. Very common issue as well. Check the tailgate latch - they go bad (mine's bad) and are a PITA. Look for rust under the chrome wheel well trim on the box. Make sure it's had the relay rod recall completed.

Other than that, pretty solid. I just bought on on Sunday.

Would the cracked firewall rattle when driving at 2500-4000rpm? Because i noticed that on the test drive. Why do they crack there?

The mount is just not as well designed as it could be. 10 minutes with a welder and it will never crack again.

The rattle is probably the exhaust shields on the crossover pipe behind the engine. No worries there.
