99 4runner Brake Light

The Brake light in dash on Rachels 4runner is lit intermittantly.

The Master Res cap was loose, I put it on good. Fluid level is good and I verified the brake itself was disngaged and nothing ubstructing the lever.

What else feeds into this warning light?

The brake fluid level sensor might be bad?
Havent really looked at mine to see what kind of sensor it has.

According to my 2001 4Runner FSM, either brake fluid level is low (which you already fixed) or hydraulic brake booster power supply is bad. Is she getting any buzzer sounds when when the light comes on?

No buzzer sounds.

So it doesn't have anything to do with the ebrake? like potentially a bad sensor there or needing adjustment?

Check your PMs.

I didn't see anything about in my FSM. Here are the symptom/suspect areas from the FSM that reference a brake warning light coming on.

--Brake warning light lights up (Parking brake lever released) (note 1)
1. Brake fluid level
2. Hydraulic brake booster power supply system (Faulty)

--Brake warning light lights up and brake warning buzzer sounds (note 2)
1. Hydraulic brake booster power supply system (Faulty)

--ABS warning light lights up (note 3)
1. Anti - lock brake system (Faulty)
2. Hydraulic brake booster power supply system (Faulty)

Notes 1, 3: The light may stay on for about 60 seconds after the engine is started. It is normal if it goes out after a while.

Notes 2, 3: Depressing the brake pedal repeatedly may turn on the warning light and buzzer. It is normal if the light goes off and the buzzer stops sounding after a few seconds.

Note 3: While ABS warning light is ON.

you can try looping the wires at both the master cylinder and the p-brake lever switch. this will bypass both sensors to see if that is your problem. be sure to do one at a time. good luck
