School me on Tundra option packages

01-04 Access cab specifically. It seems most of them have an SR5 badge which doesn't tell me anything. Limited, TRD, what comes with each?

Here is the stuff I want:
CD player 6 disc would be great but no big deal
A/C, PS, PB, PW, PL, rear slider, 4x4 of course, cruise control, center arm rest whether on a 60-40 or buckets and console, no matter really. Towing package is also important and I do like keyless entry.

Things I'd LIKE but do not need:
Leather seats
power seat
fog lamps
?

So, am I looking for a limited? SR5? TRD?

Is there any more skid plating with a TRD or SR5? Is the factory skid plating any good?

Things I'd like to avoid: running boards of any kind, holes in fenders and box sides from factory flares.

Are there any factory true locker options for the rear? If there is a true locker, I'd like it, if not, I'm going to put an ARB or Detroit in it.

Can any body offer any help here?

Thanks in advance.

For leather and the rest, you'll need to get the Limited package. TRD gets you skid plates, Bilstein shocks, a sticker... SR5 is just an options package now - mostly your "power" accessories.

This lays out quite a bit but leaves some grey areas.

What you want is a non-TRD SR5 AC Tundra. (I had one, have DC now, and work for Toyota) The LTD and TRD both have the fender flares, and the LTD has the running boards. The tow packge was about the only real option that you would have to search for...BUT....like my 01, it had the larger alt, trans/oil cooler, etc, but no actual hitch. I just had to get the reciever and plug and play wire harness and I was in buisness. Also, a few, but very rare was the 6 disc on non LTD models...the towing package will be easier to find. The leather and pwr seats are exclusive to the LTD and the fog lights were an option on later (03-04 w/the plastic bumper cover) AC Tundras. Let me know if you need more info.

SPDSHFT prety much covered it. All I have to say is good luck. I spent a year looking for a V8, 4x4, tow package truck without the TRD package(ie flares). When I was looking there werent even any new trucks available. Mine came from San Jose and yes I live in Atlanta (thats how hard I looked).

I think I might just go with a limited and peel the boards off, it will be getting sliders any way. If I get the bigger flares I'll wipe them off on the trail and then leave them off I guess. I'm not buying it for a show truck. I like the rest of the limited options. It sounds like the tow package is quite worth it though. A bigger alternator, coolers and such will certainly help on the trail.

I know on a Ford, Chev or Dodge I can call my dealers with a VIN and get an option package breakdown. I like that so I don't have to trust the seller to remember what they bought 5 years or so ago. Is a toyota that easy to break down? My local dealer sucks but Wilde in Milwaukee seems pretty good.

Thanks for all the help. My wife called and says we have a buyer for the Camry. If that works out this evening, the hunt is AWN!
