Hello there I'm writing from Greece. I'm the owner of a Prado VZJ 90, model 2/2000 with 160.000 km.
Well, it's about time to change the clutch kit.
I'm looking for Centerforce, dual friction.
The problem is that in USA, the Prado is unknown model. In Centerforce catalogs I noticed that is existing a clutch kit for 4Runner which has the same engine (3.4 L, V6, 5VZFE).
My problem is, if the flywheel and the gearbox of 4Runner are the same with Prado.
Can anybody help me I'll appreciate it.

They should be identical, but just to be safe check if the part numbers are the same.

Go to http://www.toyodiy.com and then choose parts reference.

Look for a 4runner of the same year (manual) (VZN185L-GKMGKA) then check for your VZJ90 and you should get an exact match.

Thanx Tepui for your reply. The 4Runner and the Prado have, indeed, the same clutch kit.
But all my comrades have scared me. They, all, pretend that the centerforce dual friction is too aggressive for Prado. It engages and disengages quite brutal and is dangerous for Prado's health.
It isn't convenient for 4x4, also.
Have you or somebody else in this forum driving experience from centerforce clutch?

I don't have first hand experience with Centerforce, but just like your comrades said I've also heard read that Centerforce clutches transfer forces hard, that torque and power eventually has to go somewhere and could hurt your drivetrain.

In my humble opinion, you can never go wrong with OEM, especially if you plan to keep your Prado for many years to come.
