How do you orient the compass

I just bought a 2001 Prado w/ 1KZ. It has the inclinometer/compass/altimeter option with it. The compass always reads North and all the way around the compass is the letter N. It never changes. Is there a way to orient the compass or is it just fried?

Thanks.

  1. Stop the vehicle on a leveled surface
  2. Press the UP and DOWN arrows consecutively
  3. Press the MODE/LIGHT button once
  4. Press the UP button once. The compass will start flashing
  5. Turn the vehicle 360 degrees or more within 60 seconds (If you run out of time and need to start turning again, just press UP again)
  6. After the 360 degree turn, the compass should be calibrated and will stop flashing
