Colorado bits

During the last 2 weeks I managed to make a few bits for the Colorado.
I made a rear door table, thanks Nordic Cruiser for the idea. I used 6mm ply for the back board and 12mm ply for the fold-down table. Using the straps from my old bike rack. Painted it with floor paint. Used it when we went for a drive the other weekend when it snowed and it work a treat when we stop to have some snacks and coffee.






Also start to build storage boxes , I split it in the middle so I can still use one of the 3rd row seats. Not finish yet, need to make brackets to bolt it down and drawer handles. Will attach some drawer runners later, when finances are back to normal level.

I built a new bike rack, which connect to the tow bar instead of the spare wheel. It carries 5 bikes and pivot on tow bar bracket to let you open rear door half way






I also made up an adaptor to move the spare wheel carrier 50mm up to accommodate bigger spare wheel.( awaiting delivery) One of the 25mm box section extends up to rear door window and it’s where I will attach the rear work light onto.




Power is fed from the rear power outlet down under the trim of the rear load area and through the flexible rubber coax that goes into rear door (electrics for rear washer, window heater). Drilled a hole into the back of spare wheel carrier, sealed it with silicon and feed the cable ( twin core flex 1.5mm)through and up into the box section to top.

I heard that people have problems with their rear power outlet not working, so to sort that problem I pulled a new cable ( two 2.5mm cables, positive and negative) from the 2nd battery with a 30amp inline fuse. Fed it through the bulk head through the big rubber grommet (thick bunch of wires of wiring loom goes through there) down behind the glove box and the passenger side kick panel and along the door bottom , there is a loom along there that runs to the back into the jack storage area. Cut the plug off from the power outlet and join the cables with a connector block.
Next on the “To Do” list is to wire a multi plug adaptor in the back into which the air compressor can be plugged and the camp fridge.

The last thing left to do was to extend the diff breather pipes. The rear breather was snapped off so a good thing doing the mod. I fed the new pipe along the brake pipe over the chassis rail around the fuel tank to a rubber grommet, if look from the bottom, under the fuel filler cap, it’s where the wiring from the bumper lights go through, push the pipe through into the jack storage area, put a inline fuel filter on the end of the pipe and cable tie it up.
The front axle breather I also extended and am now secure to the bulk head on the side of the big rubber grommet for the wiring loom. (has any one done the gear box and transfer box breathers?)
Now we can go and play in the water…….

Looks like you made something really awesome.... only thing is that the pics arent coming up for me... but as far it reads its awesome!!!!!!! cant wait to see the pics.
