High Output Alternator
My Prado 3 door (Merú in my country) have a 70A alternator, and the output is 13.6V, is possible to modificate, change, etc. this to obtain 120A and 13.9V?
Thanks in advance |

Nope, You will need to fit another alternator. Not sure if yours has a vacuum pump fitted but if it does you will need one that also has the vacuum unit on it. Mine doesn't have the vacuum unit, and I think it is a 90amp alternator. Depending on where you are you should be able to exchange your original for a high output one.
Regards D.T. P.S. Why do you need the extra juice? Lights perhaps? __________________ LC Prado GXL-TD 95 Series. OME Suspension, ARB Steel Bullbar, Warn M8000 winch, Safari snorkel, K&N Air Filter, 3" Exhaust, DPChip, Homemade Roller Drawers, Rock Sliders. & No self righteous attitude.![]() |

I find one in e-bay. It is a Tacoma T100 alternator (the same size and configuration as us) but with 130A.
I trie to install it the next week ![]() |

You could change the stator from wye to delta configuration, and get an adjustable regulator to increase the voltage, but it won't hit 120a. More likely around 100a.
