ROTW z80
hey there:
Well here is the story on my junk. I am also known as the "green machine" in Rising Sun.
This 80 was to replace the 80 I bought from kipper, which became slee's 85 after my wife was done with it.
The truck itself is in the "larvae" stage right now, it's build will continue, but it will work for now. Almost all of the accessories are recycled in some way (the steel is all remnant or recycled), so it really is a "green" machine.
List of stuff:
custom rear bumper and tire carrier with bottle opener - me
sliders, custom, welded to frame - me
re-inforced rear crossmember
front poop pipe bumper - me
custom radius arms - me
custom rear links - me
slee 4" coils - actually got about 5 inch AFTER they settled
slee adjusters and bungs (thanks christo)
no front sway, soon to be quick disconnect rear
slee shaft (thanks again)
315's (way too small for this truck)
some lights
a winch
a cb
redneck rear deck and storage
loud stereo
lots of scratches
bubba roof rack (amazing what you can do with other peoples trash - quad rack, recycled rack feet, and a leftover running board mat)
fridge
gps
hand throttle
diff switch
e-lockers
various armored bits
Plans:
rose joint the front arms at the frame side
trim for 37's
4.88's
part time kit
slider extensions
possible partial exo
rear pinon guard
more pics real soon

these are some crappy ones, but they're pictures.
The radius arms are stockers cut, angled and plated. Not pretty, but they work.
The bumper has a dual latch a quickie toggle for around town, and a cast valve flange welded to a grade 8 bolt for the real latch. The bumper has a grade 8 nut welded in a bung to receive the bolt.
no virginia, those aren't unfinished welds, that's hardfacing rod on the bumper edges, again, not pretty, but it works. The "d" rings are actually 4130 chromo triangles, with a horizontal pull rate of 10,400# and dead lift of something like 40k, and are attached with a root then 4 fills, and a mig to look prettier.

I thought the idea for ROTW was to give some details about rigs so others could get ideas?

some lights : cheapie explorer pro-comp, h3, 55w flat pattern run on hella harness on low beam
a winch : cheapie tmax 9k, run off single red top
a cb: uniden 5w mounted on the back of the console
redneck rear deck and storage: mdf , sized to fit a 37 inch spare, but currently holds welders, tools, and subs
loud stereo: mp3 deck w/sep sub out, amp in stock location, nakamichi speakers in doors, with toy adapters
various armored bits: welded on re-inforcements on axles, and such.
all you have to do is ask!

Nice wagon , but is that control arm mod legal?
The mini bullbar looks great.
NEVER seen anything like that in Aus.

no mod here in CO, no state inspection, no fed inspection. sometimes I think that's bad, sometimes good.
I don't see why it couldn't be certified though, as long as the welds flux out ok.

very cool rig.
I would like to see some closeups of the sliders and interior mods also.
Did the driver side mirror suffer some trail impact?

ended up never doing it. damn thing is too tight in the front still with no sway bar. I decided to leave it to force the front to work more until I retain the springs. I punished it real hard this last week, but I still have the emu shocks. I haven't figured out how to redo the shocks to go 14" travel yet
