80 inner axle shaft question

Anyone ever done a Marlin tack to an 80 inner axle shaft? Any reason to avoid it? I am going to do it to my mini, and considering the LX.

Thanks

When a bunch of us were wrenching on Phishtaco's 80 series, Zebrabeefj40 suggested this in lieu of using the inner, pain in the butt, c-clip.

We put just a small little weld at the splines and smashed the inner back into the birfield.

You might want to give zebrabeefj40 a PM...he's good at this stuff.
