| My lockers wont engage Ok, so here is the problem. I did the 7 pin mod months back and the lockers worked great. I thought that by doing the 7 pin mod you could engage your lockers while in high, without the center diff being engaged? Well, I went out today just to mess around and to my surprise, my lockers will not engage at all unless the center diff button is pushed.........be it in high or low. So, what could be the problem? It worked great before but now, I dont know what is going on. Any advice would be great. Oh yes, just incase, this is a 1993 with stock lockers and a bunch of crap on the rig.....with 247k and still going strong.

| With out the center diff locked, the computer won't let you lock the axles.

| The pin-7 mod only allows you to unlock the CDL in 4-low. |

| In order to lock the diffs in high you must have the center locked if memory serves me correct. I have ARBs so I dont have that problem

| The only thing the 7-pin mod does is prevent your CDL from automatically engaging/locking when you shift the transfer to 4L. As said above, the CDL must be locked in order to lock F or R. |

| Is there any way to trick the locker computer, into allowing the diffs to be locked without the CDL? Not that I would recomend this. I ask because my 80 will soon get a part-time case (and therefore, the Diff Computer will not get the CDL signal).
On the other hand... I suppose I could connect the 4WD indicator on the new part-time case, to the 4WD computer (so... in 4WD, the "Diff Lock" light will come on , and the diff lock computer will be happy).
thoughts? |
