I don't want to say too much about my experience with man a fre, I'm trying to let it go. What I will say is steer clear of Man a Fre! The bumper BUILD quallity is great with the exception of the latch and horrible paint (which I have changed). I would NEVER buy another one unless I could buy it unfinished with a different latch DIRECT from dave at 4+. The Last I heard Man a Fre was not offering this bumper anymore. I would recomend any of the other bumpers...Lukes seems to be the most similar to the 4+ as far as departure angle.

Chiming in...Im not done with mine, but Im getting there.

The white area will be cut out and 3/16" plate steel wings will be attached, in addition to quarter panel tubing
The main bumper is a 4x6 3/16" tube that is notched out and fit over the frame, that I cut off about 2 1/2". It is currently only bolted on using the 2nd receiver nut in the frame and tach welded to the frame at the top. Once complete, it will be entirely welded to the frame and reinforcements from the back of the receiver to the frame for added strength when towing.

Has anyone ever seen some kind of drop down (swing down?) tire carrier/bumper instead of the "standard" swing out style? I'd much rather roll the spare on and off vs. blowing my back out lifting some monster mud tire into place. Yah yah, I'm a skinny 'lil white dude I know..just thinking outside the box.

Sniper_Sand_cars
gallery, IE Southern California, I can leave the truck at the shop for mock up, call him for prices.
fwiw, the rear access is a PITA for regular access but allows for lots of clearance on the trail.

One of these days when its slow at work I'll play with some designs similar to yours, but still allow a side swing out for normal rear cargo access.

shucks, y'all (them'all?) does good work. SOCAL is a bit of a stretch for me, but thanks for the linky.
.......hmmm.....metal-tech is in the same kind of biz-nitz, and much closer........
I wonder what kind of fabricator idea sharing is cool, and why not have the guys closer to me do a custom tire carrying bumper when I get the sliders......(eventually) hmmmmmmmmm.....
