My running boards resembled yours thanks to PKP80, Ammo, Ian, and Biff. Sam did suggest taking them off before the run, but I was looking for my excuse, like Biff, to replace them with sliders. hehehe

Luckily I was able to get away unscathed.

Yes, that is the perfect excuse to get a set. And I quote “see honey, if I would have had the sliders this wouldn’t have happened”.

Second, you could use both the magnetic panels and then put the plastic on the flares, mirrors, and parts of the truck that the magnets don't cover.

Third, you can do >90mph with the Saran .... err, I mean the shrink wrap... with no worries about it coming off.

Did you cut the hoop off the Slee or did it come without?

Is your fire extinguisher quite secure? it's head-height with the driver....

That's the reason I special ordered the Outback rack from Slee with the sunroof hatch.

Ok, so a second advantage for the shrink wraps; high speeds. Multiple trips I had to stop and tape down the magnets leading edges, not quite wind tunnel capable.

Dan, I actually purchased the last remaining Slee bumper without the hoop prior to the increase in steel pricing. I think now they mostly sell with the hoop.

Good question on the extinguisher, it is secured almost to the point that I’m concerned of getting it down quick enough. And I have a back up in the tool compartment, but that’s now behind the wheel.

Sweet… that is defiantly one that I would like to get! Can you even get it without the hatch?

I took a piece of 1/2” conduit and flattened one side out in a vice and drilled two holes the same distance and diameter as the headrest posts and painted it black. Then I purchased this clamp for $15 http://www.clamperpod.com/. And it works out great, I used to ask the shotgun passenger to hold it but then I started to wheel with my daughters more often and they would just loose interest after the first 20 minutes of holding the camera.

I noticed you arent too satisfied with the interior tire mount, particular reason? Loss of cargo room? Also, what exactly did you do and do you have any more pictures of it? Very sweet rig!

Actually he only makes them in very small runs now and I had to wait a bit to get mine 'cuz they needed enough pre-orders to justify the run. All the current ones are hoop equipped. I tried to get a "plain" one (no dice) but the hoop is kinda growing on me. It is only a cutoff wheel away from gone if I change my mind tho.......

Thanks. The low rating is due to the slight wobble that sometimes occurs, plus I would rather have it on the opposite side. It is somewhat intrusive in space in the cargo area but for now not to bad. I purchased it for about $40 at the MAF garage sale http://www.man-a-fre.com/garage_sale/garagesales.asp; it was defiantly worth my while for that price. It bolts in place of the third row seat, not a bad design but not perfect. I hope this picture helps.

I thought about getting the hoop and then possibly adding to it, would you considering going this route? I ended up opting for the clean pallet to start with; I’m most likely going to weld one on in the future.

No problem, wait for the sale though. I don't think I paid that much, and I did get it a Best Buy.

I bought the same thing and found that the wobble bothered me quite a bit even though it was securely bolted down. I just have not had any time to try and fix it. Nice rig by the way!!!!

Thanks. What ideas have you came up with to resolve the issue? I can’t think of a good way to triangulate it to give it the proper support without completely revising the entire thing. I’m kind of leaning towards incorporating multiple lug holes in the wheel instead of the one little bolt in the center hub.

I dont Have any solid ideas but I was going to try and play around with it this upcoming weekend. I will let you know if I figure out anything that really works.

Great ride and write up!! I actually think with the slee bumper that the ARB upper would be perfect on the slee. That would be my perfect bumper, my wife loves the upper bars of the ARB and I love the lower slee bumper. As you can see the wife won out in my situation as is usual.

Thank you. You hit the nail on the head! I agree that would be the perfect match. I noticed in the past one or guys chopping off the top of their ARB, I wonder what they did with them.
