OK, after reading your post to me and seeing the pic you posted...I have to post one UZJ100 pic. Compare the size of the rock the 100's on to your pic? And note that ALL wheels are on the ground. Luv those N74L shocks!

I have to agree with my bro norcaldoug on this one. Hollister is a 4 wd theme park. It has essentially dirt fireroad trails and a few steeps. It is not worth a drive from Sacramento, let alone a drive from Arizona. The coolest thing I ever saw there was Drexx drowning his truck in the mud pit. That WAS worth the trip from Sacramento.

Wow on Hollister. I guess I won't want that. I know where to ask when we do plan a trip. I know NOT to ask Doug though if we bring the 100. He's lead me somewhere where the thing will get destroyed on a 5.0 trail.
Yes...the friggin LX450. Wonder what the odds are I got 2 D/C front shafts in a row. We might find out Sunday. It's so sweet it's killing me not being able to wheel it. 3 W/E trips in a row coming up. Looks like the 100 might have to run the 4.0.

yeah...well...if the remark came from someone who's opinion mattered at all, I might feel it worth going toe to toe...but come on Mike...this is shotts we're talking about. We've all pretty much learned to ignore most of what he posts...which is why I missed the "dis".

Yer serious huh? Man, what in the world makes you so touchy?
Who wouldn't be disappointed in an LX, a 100 or a Jeep if they worked on it for months, spent $10K on it, everything was on and ready, and it wasn't wheelable/driveable?
Man, you must "look for something" in my posts. That's OK though with me. Go beat the horse now again.

Me? Serious? Dude...whatsamattayou? You don't see 's in that post?
Don't get your panties in a bunch Frances.
As far as your LX goes -- don't go blaming your problems on Lexus or Toyota or anyone else when you go and booty-fab a lift using a little of this...and a little of that...and a couple spacers...and...uh...whatever YOU think iyou need to take yourself up to 4" AND THEN HAVE PROBLEMS.
You want 4" of lift? Get the 4" springs and all the gear that goes with the suspension lift kit and BE DONE WITH IT.
Do it once. Do it right.

I knew that was going to turn some people off...
People wheel whee they can. If Holister's close to you, then cool. But to travel from AZ to do Hollister Hills? Come on...nobody does that.
There's nothing wrong with HH, but I probably wouldn't drive more than an hour or so to go there.

Opps-Didn't mean to dis Holister too much, just to draw attention to the fact that Shotts would be disappointed if he drove from Az. We have a similar place here-Prairie City. It's good for about an hour of fun. We have used it in the past for field testing new mods, the way I assume you guys would use Holister.
edit-I hadn't watched that video in ages-that was a fun time. I hear frm Drexx's sister that he has drowned 1 other cruiser and a hilux since then. He should hire a driver when he goes off-road!

I live 20 minutes from Hollister and I don't even go there.
Doug is correct. There are many a fine spot to tackle before heeping around Hollister.
It is okay if you just have a few hours to kill.

Robert,
I understand what you mean. But after driving twice to Hollister, I'm kinda burned out with the place. We've got something similar here called Prarie City.
It takes us just as long to get to Hollister, than to get to the trail head of the Rubicon trail. The Sierras might be closer to us in Sacto, but most trail heads are more than 1.5 hours away.
I think that if someone is into mud (like Drexx), Hollister is like candyland. But if you are into rocks, both Hollister and Prarie City are a bit disappointing.
Just my take
Alvaro

My hat's off to all for keeping this thread going. More pics....more pics. I've had many 4x4 off-road capabilities discussions with these pics as background supporting documents!
BTW, what's the size limit on something like this. We don't want the server to puke. Romer?
