Not the question you asked but the factory wiring includes a pressure switch in the ac coolant line and a relay mounted in the engine fuse box. See the blank spot in your fuse box labled CDS.

My JDM has that aux cooling fan on the RHD side in front of the condenser. It is controlled by the AC switch. However, when I look at the rig upfront, I feel that the overall effect is not symmetic. The LHD side looks blank - with just the stock horns in them.

Am thinking of adding another aux fan on the left side to balance the look and fill up the empty space on the LH side (and get more cooler air).

Questions before I purchase one from a local shop here:
- can I just do a parallel wire tap to the wiring of the existing aux fan? Or should I have a separate wiring (complete with fuse/relay, swithc, etc.)?
- the extra cool air that would be generated is ok for the engine, right? More air, the cooler the engine bay becomes and hence good for the engine, right?
I ran this idea to somebody and he said that another aux fan is not needed since the condenser needs "to get hot" as well.

thanks,

Hi, Dan,

about http://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php...4&postcount=17,
does it fit on my 1996's HDJ80 1HD-FT? and is it possible to buy it, & for which price? Do you think, it would be appropriate for Sahara travel ?
Thanks for your answer,
Luc.

I like to be able to run it when the vehicle is being worked hard on low-speed trails.

I do not know if the condensor on that vehicle has mounting tabs on it. If it does then the fan should fit.

Any exra airflow in a hot climate is a benefit.

The part number is 88590-60010. I do not know if it's available in France.

In the EPC's, I find 2 condensors, for 1996
-88460-60160, for single AC
-88460-60170, for dual AC, but not HDJ 80, only FZJ
...
So, do you know the difference, particulaly for this problem of fiting the double electrical fan?

OK, I've just found it in the EPC, but just for General, not for European;
Is it possible, that you could sell me one, or must i ask Mot in Japan?

Dan,

Kudos on a great rig! I just wonder how you did all that as busy as you are.

Best regards,
Wes

It has been an evolution. You can get quite a few things done over a 13 year period.

Have ya thought about adding a small % of nitromethane to your methanol drum? Say 5% nitro? Increased power, increased burn....probably at the risk of the valvetrain or o2 sensors though......we ran upwards of 35% nitro in our RC airplane fuel (which is just methanol, nitromethane and castor oil, or synthetic equivalent)...we looked really wierd unloading 11 5 gallon gas cans from the back of my truck when we picked up our drums worth of fuel (in various blends).

I'd love to see some pics of the methanol injection (i was gonna say pics of your plumbing, but that might have sounded a bit ummm, )

Thanks,

One fan only, mounted on the right-hand side of the condensor. Current mudder price is $232.35 (USD) plus whatever it costs to ship it over seas.

Tell Larry we need to change the name to "International Toyota" with global headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
