RTH: Key sticks in ignition - Gear Select Lever 100% culprit
Last time this happened was like three months ago, but ever since Tuesday it does this all the time. Anyway:
Whenever I turn the car off the key won't turn past "Acc." and come out of the ignition. Only after running the Gear Select Lever from "P" to "L" and back like 10 times with the shiftlock override can I get the key out.
Can someone point me in the direction of a diagram or something that tells me how to adjust the key lock mechanism thingy? There's nothing in the FSM that addresses this particular issue.
Thanks!

Did you try graphite or WD-40 in the keyhole?

My 91's done this for ~ 8 years now. I just have to give it an extra slap forward after it is in park to get it to release the key. It just comes natural to me now and will probably never attempt to fix it. Sure messes with people that borrow my truck though.

Yup, tried the lube trick, no dice.
Looking to adjust the thingy, would under the center console be a good place to look or would I have to crawl up under the car?
