Tulsa OK. can anyone help me install my ARB?
92 FJ80, I can get the third out no problem, but does anyone have the experience / tools to help me install my arb locker in my front pumpkin?
If yes, how many cases of beer will it cost me?

you will want new bearings and races for the carrier, and then swap the ring gear (dont forget locktight), and then just get the carrier backlash to spec. And run your air lines It sounds harder than it looks, the great thing about cruisers is the removable 3rd and how you adjust the carrier position by rotating the side components instead of f#@&ing with shims like you do on other axles. If you ever do this in a jeep you will really appreciate how mr toyota did it.
I would probally only charge you a case of beer but it would be a long drive and there are probally more experienced people in your area. Also there may be some info on setting up gears on here somewhere.
Cheers!

So for the most part shouldnt be as hard, although i have never ran the arb carrier or installed the air line. And the only major part of that as i understand is making sure the airline doesnt contact any moving parts. If you have an air leak you could be putting 120 psi into your axle.

Big D's 4 wheel drive, Sand Springs, OK. Been talking to him lately about setting up gears for my LX. I'm confident that he would do a good job for you.

email the GCC list - someone might be able to help you out if you're wanting to do it yourself , I'd say post in the club corner for them, but we're not real active there.
akarilo - What kind of price has bid D's given you for set-up?

Get yourself a bottle of 'enginneers blue'. It is a dye that shows contact on wear surfaces. When you are ready o set up the ring and pinion give the ring gear a coat and check that your contact point is the same as before you stripped it down. This assumes you had whining/clonking before stripping down. Just a quick question, why is the locker going in the front and not the rear or is one already fitted at the back?
regards
Dave

is this something you usually do for gears that have already been run for along time? unless he is changing gears there should be no need to move the pinion, in which case all he should have to worry about is backlash i would think. Although he can apply the yellow paint you get to check where the gears contact BEFORE for reference, and after to make sure they are the same place, there really shouldnt be any reason why this would change.
