? about tire size etc....

question about 315/75/R16?

my buddy is running 315/70/R17 on his dodge mega cab and a real measurement of the tire mounted etc make it a 33.2 inch tire, i'm going for practicality and looks on my 80 series and would like to run a true 33 inch tire for my truck, 285's loook so small within the wheel well, i've been looking at 295's and 315's for mine, what do the board members have to say about the better tire size.....

i'm more into camping and exploring, but have a question about gearing as well......i drive mostly highway and my rig is a daily driver, it was reccommmeded by a local shop to run 4:56's if running the 315's but 295's just run stock gears....

opinions on 295's i see socal running them

and if i get the 295's or 315's should i switch to L shocks? as i'm currently running ome heavies front and rear with E shocks

opinions would help and real tire size measurements etc would be appreciated

matt

I ran 315's with stock gears and it was fine... One of the only tires that is a true 33 is a Trxus M/T. I would swear by those tires! I had them in 33x12.50R16 and when my Iroks wear out, I will probably be running Trxus again (in a 37x12.50R17).

I don't think 285s look small in the wheel well.

OME Heavies front/rear, no armor, Cooper STT 285/75/16 (33.1" per Cooper specs):
