Is that you? Looks like it is going to be a great trip. Is this telling us 80 owners that the best Land Cruiser is the 80 Series?

Does he have a build thread? Based on the news article I am a little concerned regarding his vehicle prep. I made a comment in the chit-chat forum but the first thing I noticed was that it looks like he is driving on season radial tires. WTF?

Last time I checked he only had 5 posts. I doubt he even knows what a PHH is.

In six months I wouldn't be surprised if that guy from Afghanistan is selling this guys truck one part at a time on fleaBay.

Based on the info I've read, don't think he did the head gasket.

I'd figure out a way to get a low mileage/pristine JDM 80 series diesel in Canada. Much better off with a 'round the world trip running diesel than gas.

Why are some of yall so scared about head gaskets? Whenever someone new is here yall start scaring them about head gaskets.

IIRC only about 20& of the 1fz's have had this problem.

Looks like a fun trip, be safe and check the fluids regularly!

edit: nvm I agree with the post above now. For some reason I wasnt really paying attention and thought it was a cross country trip. My bad. Yeah I hope you have done SERIOUS preventative maintenance before you start. There are some scary places out there and I would not want to break down in those locations.

To be honest whilst I have an 80 series and quite like it a EFI, gas 80 series would not be my first choice for an around the world trip.

No mention of sorting out his carnet de passage.

He'll be lucky to get around the world without one.

and they can be scary expensive
