Just hope that he did all the maintenance, the 80s will take wherever place you want to go in the earth.Every once ayear I drove my 80s 6000 miles two way trip across country from CA to NY then back NY to CA again.Never had problem run like champ.
Just little suggestion, since you goin off road and on road, I would remove those running board and replace those tires just to prevent something unexpected thing.
You have good and safe trip drivin around the world

He seems to be missing the most important thing at least in my mind.
Another body.
An extra set of hands and more importantly an extra set of eyes will be EXTREMELY handy along the way.
I can't wait to follow this. Shipping stuff isn't easy. I've been trying to get a 43 out of Colombia for a year.

I think a few people might be missing the point. I don't think the original poster, "scotia" is driving around the world. I think "scotia" is just posting the article about a different person, "Nicolas Rapp" who is driving around the world in an FZJ80.
So anyways, I wish Nicolas Rapp many happy trails.
