Washer Bottle Relocation?

Is Slee the only company that makes a prefabbed washer bottle relocation kit?

Locating parts before I attack my dual battery install and I just wanna weigh my options before making my own bracket

I think so. I recall reading a thread where a guy made some brackets for 95-97 models to use an earlier FJ80 bottle inboard of the 95-97 stock fuse box too.

I made a bracket that allows you to use a 91/92 washer bottle in a later 93-97 truck. It's more of a charcoal canister relocater as that is what is in the way.

But this doesn't relocate the existing washer bottle, it totally eliminates it. It was done to allow a dual battery setup with a super charged engine.

Yeah, I was reading through that thread earlier.

Nice clean setup, but I don't want to replace the OEM bottle.

Landtank - Didn't you put the bottle in between the fuse box and charcol canister?

Here's my original pre-supercharger install:
Washer Bottle Relocation

And here's with a Corolla bottle post-supercharger install:
Washer Relocation

No, I don't make sell them. I no longer have the wood template to make the Corolla relocation bracket.

cheers,
george.

the earlier bottle bolts to the fender and has a second bladder that is inside the fender for increased capacity. So the fuse block needs to go where the charcoal canister is and the charcoal canister needs to move out to make room for the fuse block.

The other option was to go with a Camry or similar washer bottle and wedge it up against the fire wall where the Slee bracket moves the factory one. That works but it is rather small and with our rear window washer setup it would run dry kind of quickly in dirty environments.

I did my own - it's not hard to make, and it seems about 1/2 the people using the Slee one have issues with fit, so if you're going to have to goof with it anyway....

edit - here's the link to issues w/ slee's mount

http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-te...eeded-pls.html

like my sig says, I prefure to build if I can

http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-te...ters-plus.html

It could be done w/o welding if need be.

IPOR used to have one they sold as part of a complete dual battery set up. Don't know if he still does or not.

I made my own mounts on my 97 LX out of some scrap alum pieces. I used the stock tank, and rerouted the plumbing. It sits behind and next to the cruise control module. Used existing threaded holes and bolts for my mounts.

If you are not adding a supercharger then you will have space to relocate the original.

If you plan on adding one later go ahead and find a Corolla bottle as prat of the relocation.

Thanx for the info, guys

I ordered up the Slee kit on Tuesday and it showed up this morning

Since I already had the FJ tray and all the necessary hardware, I went ahead and installed it.

The tray needed just a slight trim to clear the fan shroud and I used the included sticky sponge to seal it...

I test fitted bottle with the brackets installed as per Slee's intructions, but before I could tighted the bolts down, I could already tell the bottle was too close to the wire harness on the firewall and the cruise control cable was starting to bend

So I took it apart and reinstalled the bottle and supplied spacer behind the bracket and everything fit nicely

There's a safe gap between the rear harness and diag connector and the cruiser control cable is free of stress (doesn't even touch)

On a sidenote, going by the pix previously posted in other threads, it looks as though Slee changed the angle of the bracket that bolts to the air cleaner as mine had a solid 90* bend on the end that bolts up to the bottle

Mine:

Jomo's:

Didn't like the wire that came with the kit, so I'm gunna install some leftover 2-wire tin shielded conduit cable tomorrow

As Brent mentioned Lance at IPOR does have a bracket that is an easy install. You'll have to call as it hasn't been listed on the web site for some time.

I fabricated my own washer bottle relocation bracket using George design.

Snake eater, what color is your valve cover? Nice paint though.

It's Pontiac Engine Blue (I had some leftover when I changed the valve cover gasket/seals)
