Snoway plow on 80 series

Found a new use for a 80 today Finally got rid of the pos Suburban that we used to have for a plow and set up a plow that any Cruiser shop will be proud off

Asked myself the same question. However should have used a 100 series. They have heated seats and mirrors

Just cause it snows, you get it done?

Looks good, and no matter what anyone says.. snoways are great!

Do you have the down pressure hooked up?

Had it done for some time. First noticeable snow for the season. Wonder if it will work in Moab

Sweet! Maybe you could at least put some real tires on that thing? I'm sure you have some laying around. First real snow of the year is always fun. I had to pull my neighbor's daughter out earlier. She came flying down the street and slid about 20 feet into her dad's yard! Buried her Ford Focus up to the hood! Sorry, no pics. I didn't even charge her???

Believe it or not, I actually do not have a set of tires for it. If only I could get 18" wheels for it, then I am all set. I was surprised that the Michelins actually did the job.

Plow is Snoway plow. We made the brackets that go to the frame. The rest is part of a kit that used to fit a F150 truck. Snoway used to make a bracket kit for the 80 but it is discontinued. Imagine that.

Similar to this model.

It may just be the angle of the picture, but it looks like that plow sticks out a long ways from the front of the vehicle.

Yes it does, more so that other plows. The beauty of it is that when you take it off, all the hydraulics etc etc stays on the plow. Only the bracket stays on the truck.

Meyer still has 8 mounts left at the factory for a direct fitment, but they are the easy mount classic (old hitch pin style)

I plowed snow commercially for two decades B4 moving South and never heard of them B4 this thread. Granted the downpressure seems like a good feature, depending on how effective it really is.

I deal with metalurgy in my day-job but I have never heard that term. WTF is "more engineered steel" ??

It actually works pretty good. Will unload the 80 front completely.

For the record, this is just a used plow that I found on craigslist. Not really particular to them, however I like the fact that it is light weight, easy to hook up and self contained.

Sorry, they claim a higher strength of steel...I have had one on a 1 ton, it weighed about 100lbs less than other plows, but held up just as well..

I went to a Boss 10' V on GMC 5500. I have a Meyer C8 on my Excursion and run a snow blower on my Trackless MT5.

They are a midwestern brand. More so than Meyer.

As for the down pressure.. If you don't adjust it right it can lift the front end of the truck off the ground. The relief valve is adjustable.

edit, I also did not intend to imply that anything was better than another.. just the fact the snoway is a viable option, particularly suited to the 80 series..

not knocking them...just never heard of them B4 so the instinct in me was to think WHO? Prolly a good product that either meets a particular need or fills a gap in the market or they wouldn't be around. Plow on!

While driving through PA a few months ago I saw two rusty LC's, a FJ62 and an FJ80, up against the back fence at a Toyota dealer, both with snowplows on them. Wish I had taken photos.

Rexman; IIRC it was the Toyota Dealership in Chambersburg on Lincoln Highway (? Fitzgerald Toyota). They both were parked in the back.
